It's been a wet year and last few months in North Texas, I don't attribute it to anything except normal weather pattern.

I was reading a story about how the snowpack in the Colorado mountains are at 700% of the normal average this month. They said that the reservoirs are low right now because so much snow is still up in the mountains, but they expect that to change soon when the snow starts to melt.

Wet elsewhere in Texas, too.  Getting sick of nonstop monsoons.  Must find something/someone on whom to blame it.

Are the reservoirs capable of handling snowmelt of that volume, and perhaps a lot in a short time?

I think Lake Mead and Lake Powell are fairly low right now, so I think they have the capacity.

Last snow where I am melted a few days ago, but looking up into the Mountains there is a lot to come down, the rivers are very high but of course not so much of an issue here at 10,000ft, as the water drops down and converges then it gets interesting.

 

Has been a cold spring so the normal melt levels have not happened, a lot of the high passes are still closed.

That's what I am hearing as well across the SW that it has been a cool wet spring.

We have been seeing temps up into the 60"s but not a lot of sun, one thing we always used to get was sun.

Even in California they are seeing abnormal amounts of rain and low temperatures. But it's global warming you know.

I was in Yuma a few weeks ago and my co-workers there were telling me how cool the Spring was there.  In fact that week was the first week reaching the triple digits.

   It could also be that many of you still don't understand the difference between regional temperature and global mean temperature.

It could be that mean global temperatures fluctuate.  And that glaciers grow.

yes, lots of rain.  i'm right next to the missouri river and we've had so much rain i'm looking at buying a boat.
