Hey everyone,

 

I have an acquaintance who is aware of the whole visa/immigration process that my husband and I have recently gone through, and was asking me yesterday about their options for sponsoring a family friend of theirs to work for them as a nanny.  He recently stayed with them for a couple months while visiting the U.S. on a tourist visa, and their kids grew very attached to him.  The parents both work, so having his help with the kids while he was here was wonderful for them, and for the kids, and they would like for him to be able to come back, and be able to pay him to nanny for them.  

 

I'm unfamiliar with work visas, but from what I've read online they would probably need to do an H2B visa for unskilled non-agricultural labor.  I searched the forums here, but hardly found anything on H2B visas...does anyone have any experience or insight on the process, and how difficult it is to get one?  I know there is an annual cap for this type of visa.  Or is there another visa that is more appropriate for their situation? 

 

Any insight or advice is much appreciated.  Thanks!
