Mumbai Consulate - Any recent "IR" interviews/interview scheduled?

Thank you for the quick response Jasp!! I saw this on twitter. Wondering if anyone here got their interview scheduled. Wondering how big the backlog is and when we can expect to be interviewed. Just got our DQ today.

Also is there any other mail you receive from NVC after DQ and before interview is scheduled? I mean do you get notification that your case is sent to the embassy or something? Thanks again!

 I don't think there has been any scheduling yet, i know a few who got their interviews cancelled in March and they haven't heard anything. The backlog is from December 2019, lot of them awaiting their interview since.

 

No you won't receive an email from NVC but directly from the embassy now when they schedule your interview.

 

However you can check this link - https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx

 

When it shows "Ready" it means your case has been sent to Embassy by the NVC.

 

BTW congratulations on the DQ. Let's hope they start processing soon so we all get done with this lonnggg immigration process. All the Best!

Thank you so much! This is very helpful! I had no idea what happened between NVC and interview stage. I just checked the link you shared - it shows that we are still at NVC. I guess this might take a while.  How long it took from DQ to "Ready" status for you guys?

It shows at NVC for me as well, DQ since May 2020. It will only change just a few days after the interview date is assigned.

The embassy has begun sending out reschedule emails to a small number of people who had cancelled interviews on March 17 (seemingly in the order of cancelled interview dates, and not DQ dates).

 

I'm sure many of you know or are a part of the telegram group for people awaiting IR/CR visas in India, and that's where I'm getting this information from.

Any further news on what is the status of the CR1/IR1 visa interviews at Mumbai? What DQ/cancelled interview dates are currently being interviewed?

We called up Mumbai Consulate multiple times last week and requested some info about how long more we have to wait for the interview but they didn't share any info. Very standard reply of either connect with NVC or Just Wait. Even a tentative date is not available from them.The good part - Yes the Mumbai Consulate is now operating regularly but with reduced staff. IR1/2 CR1/2 remains high priority.

 

We got DQed in 1st week of October 2020. This loneliness and financial stress due to Covid is pushing me to file an expedite :(
