1. Acceptance of all documents uploaded

2. Case completion Notification received

3. Interview appointment letter received (required for next two steps)

4. Schedule biometric appointment (at least two weeks before interview)

5. Call to schedule medical appointment (at least two weeks before interview)

Do I receive the interview letter in the mail or do I get a notification in the email and the CEAC account? I am asking so in case I miss postal mail at home. Thanks.

thanks @IndiaAnnie! are steps 1 and 2 on the same date?

Yes, all that I've seen barring any slight delay in email delivery. I received an email stating that they sent a message and the qualification email simultaneously. I logged in and the message simply said that all documents had been received. In my case they marked my husband's divorce decree "missing" in the required document section but since I knew it was a bad copy from a scanner (not clear, court seal cut off, etc) I had my husband send a crystal clear image of each page on his phone, cropped, saved as PDF and uploaded each page in the "additional document" section. I was anticipating that they may reject the lawyers scan so I doubled up and they accepted the copy below (after marking first one rejected).

Anticipate the unexpected in this process and you'll do great!!

Email only with message from the system and your document qualification email that they'll be scheduling you with the embassy.

The Mumbai queue has started moving, at least for IR 5. My wife (DQ May 10) and I (DQ June 4) have received interview emails today for the same date - Oct 7. Some of you must have got it too.

Would anyone tell me: What can we expect in the medical? How to fix appointment for biometrics? How many days one should plan to stay in Mumbai? What are the questions asked at the interview? I suppose once a member gets the interview call, he/she stops posting on Visa Journey. I will surely post my replies once I go through the process. But right now, can anyone give me some answers? thanks.

Alright, here are few answers to your questions. FYI: This is my personal experience

In medical, they do Blood tests, Urine Tests, Physical test and, Chest Xray. If you have vaccination records, take it with you and if not then they will give you vaccines which are needed.

For biometrics, you must have received an email to create an account on ustraveldocs.com. Create an account on there and select date for the biometrics. My suggestion: get your biometrics done like 4 to 5 days before your interview

For staying in Mumbai, my suggestion is, atleast be there a day before like in the morning or afternoon, so that you can settle down and be ready for the interview next day in the morning around 7 or 7 30. Also try to stay near the embassy area, so that the transportation time will be less.

Interview Questions: Mine was the spouse visa, i don't the questions will be the same, but there are few generic questions

who is calling you?

what is the name?

what is the location in usa?

who is the sponsor?

where does he/shes lives?

What is your relationship with the sponsor?

Where will you be staying in usa?

What are plans after going there?

These are the few i could think of right now.

Hope these help. :)

Yeah, I am wondering about this as well, as there is no news about Mumbai while lot of people from other embassies are reporting ILs. Day by day, I am losing hope for IL by end of this year.

Trend over the past few months in the WhatsApp group is that they send Mumbai on Wed/Thurs and heavy around third week of the month (tonight/tomorrow should see activity). A few came through last week up to May 15th and Dhaka (who always releases before Mumbai) cleared all of May/June last week. Everyone has high hopes for next few days...
