My interview was on 13-June (nairobi), was told I had passed the interview and the CO put a green slip with a booklet in my file but then gave me a yellow slip stating to send the IRS tax returns with passport via dhl to have my visa issued in a couple of days. I sent them the following day and as per dhl they were received on 17-June. Is there anyone with any info about this situation and how long should we have to wait for. thanks

Congratulations in advance, well you sent the necessary documents asked so you just need to wait and keep checking on your status on ceac website, once you see a change in date on the update it means your case has been revisited and changea made to it, next update will be issued. Good luck.

It ranges from hard to know to impossible to know how long it will take, there are no set timelines... "Nairobi is a busy embassy yknow."  ;)

We’re in the same situation. I submitted the passport, tax returns and W-2 on 6/14 (on the day of the interview). Last update was on 6/20. It may take days, weeks or months.

I wouldn’t get frustrated or discouraged, normally it would take months for more complicated Admin Processings. But for simple cases like missing birth certificate or tax returns it normally doesn’t take that long because they’re just adding it to your file and then issue.

We’re definitely in the same boat and time frame.

Thank you for the support. My fiancée came to visit me immediately after the interview, for two weeks, with the intention to bring me back with her to the US. Now we are trying to recover from the shock/surprise of AP. Hopefully you are right and it would get resolved sooner than later.

Sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’ve been put through, all I’ve gathered is that AP for such small requests shouldn’t take longer than 3 weeks, but if it does it’s all because of the cut in staff from above. Which embassy did you use?

So I’ve received an email stating they want the tax transcripts which I sent them on 14/June.

😳🤷🏾‍♂️🤔I don’t know what’s going on over there but whatever it is I hope it’s resolved soon because it’s affecting us deeply. Now the site says last updated today 24/June.

Mine still says 6/24. I’ve used the embassy in Jerusalem. My fiancée and I came by without an appointment, a couple of days ago, and they told her that it would take time because they are sending it to Washington...

Embassies will tell you this either on their web page instructions or in the P3.

"Visa issuance is not guaranteed. Therefore, we recommend that you do NOT make any travel plans, quit your job, or sell your properties, purchase airline tickets that are non-refundable or place deposits for wedding venue's until a consular officer has approved your visa and it has been issued."

BTW, USCIS, NVC and your embassy work from their timetable and not yours. Thinking otherwise only sets you up for disappointment.

What's going on is they are properly adjudicating your case just as they said they would. More research on your part would have revealed the stages that a case COULD go through. When you failed to present tax transcripts at your interview you set your processing time back. The website, as reported by many, will uodate each time it's touched. That's progress.

I agree, and we took this into consideration. Worst case scenario was that if we receive AP or denial, we would still be together for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately she can’t relocate to Israel.

Hey guys, I had my interview in Jerusalem as well. Got verbally approved on 22 of May, no documents were requested from me during or after the interview, status still on ready until no and last update was on 21 June. Good luck to everyone on this annoying process.
