My fiancee is coming to America on a K1 next Tuesday. She's flying into Atlanta, Georgia. Other than her passport, visa, and birth certificate, are there any other documents she'll need to present at the airport?

She said her medical documents were in a very large envelope and she'd probably have to put them in the checked baggage, but checked baggage isn't available until you're past the Passport Control.

I'm hoping it's standard for all airports. I tried to call and email them but no response yet.

I got instructions from my embassy to have with me the x-ray at the POE so I am planning to put it in my carry on.

I would carry the large brown envelope on to the plane, not put it in the checked baggage that will be needed at the POE in order to enter the USA, loose it and you can kiss the K-1 visa good bye, and find your self on the next plane back home.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

She will need the sealed 'do not open' envelope (that she will have got when she got her passport & visa back from the consulate) with her when she goes through immigration, so she needs to keep that in her carry-on (plus that is something she does NOT want to lose, as YuAndDan says!)... but she won't need the giant envelope with the x-ray in it, so she can pack that in her checked baggage if she wants. The sealed envelope contains all your forms you submitted for the I-129F, all the forms she sent back to the consulate etc... and she will definitely need to present those to the immigration officer at the POE if she's going to be allowed to enter on her K-1 visa. :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

Hazah,

Medical documents, except for the x-ray in most cases, should be sealed in an envelope with the rest of the case documents and needs to be hand-carried as it must be given to a CBP agent at the immigration inspection station.

Awesome guys, thanks so much for all the help! I guess i misunderstood her because i thought the Xrays were in the sealed do not open envelope. This should not be a problem to carry on this special envelope.

On a side note, it's been raining in Ukraine for the past week so she said she'll bring some rain to us in the Southeast next week. :)
