I had to fly across Canada to get the K1 in the first place; I'll fly across the US if it gets my my GC.

While not the wait times in some other places, I'm pretty sure every other field office in New England has a faster timeline than Hartford, so feel free to move me lol.

If they had a sufficiently modernized and efficient interview booking system, it would allow people to voluntarily put them name down to be assigned to an interview anywhere in the country as long as the person was willing to travel and pay to go there. I'd sign up in a heartbeat to get this process over and done with! Restricting people to a local field office seems so archaic.

We're already in this process for 10s of thousands of dollars.  What's a couple hundred more going to matter this late in the game? :)

I was about to say the same thing - I'd fly to Hawaii!!! And yes, there needs to be an evening out of the very uneven wait times across Westchester/NYC/Long Island!

And Connecticut! I would happily travel to NYC or NJ - Hartford is the only office and the wait times are horrendous!

You can rule out NYC - it's one of the slowest in the country - 13.5 to 25 months currently.

Slightly off topic but why do they not share out the EAD/AP processing to other centres instead of them all being primarily done at the NBC? The wait is now up to 8 months!

I just called USCIS and they said the only impacted field offices are Atlanta, Miami and Brooklyn (I hope I remember that right). My field office and Phoenix, got the "transfer update" on more than 2 weeks ago, but no letter/ PDF document uploaded yet. I was asked to wait 30 days for it to be uploaded or mailed. 30 days??! Usually after an update status the letter/PDF document comes the next couple days!

I don't think the person who answered your call know exactly how many field offices are affected. Seattle based here and I saw a few dps saying their cases are also transferred to portland field offices.

As in only cases from those 3 field offices would be redistributed? Seems weird they would have a press release if the policy was only going to impact 3 (out of >80) field offices.

Seems like USCIS transferring IOs. Our IO moved to Colorado from Montana right before our interview, that was in April

The article says that they are transferring cases and that applicants can receive letters from offices outside of their jurisdictions.  They may be doing a mixture of both, but we on this thread are expecting to visit another office (if applicable) because of the wording in the announcement.

That's painful and unfair that even after having had the interview you have to wait again...

Nah, it's okay.  It's the rules (at the time).  She said that if our move had completed, she would have scheduled the interview for later in the year to make sure we met the 90 day jurisdiction requirement.  I thought that was nice.  Maybe we should write her back and ask her if we can return?  Lol!

Also, USCIS releases the field office's case loads.  In case anyone wants to see their offices':

I may have missed one or two but she clearly said that other applicants may have been sent this transfer update "as courtesy only". Her words. My question is why aren't they promptly providing us the necessary explanation letter as they should?
