Hi all, since we are at NVC stage now, we are solving income issue. We need joint sponsor, however person who’s able to help us has most of the income from lawsuit (ongoing payments).

is it possible to use it as an income of joint sponsor?

Thank you.

Income is income..sponsor must be able to properly document the income.....but the Consulate Officer will consider all factors for public charge determination..

Does his tax return show his total income is over the threshold amount?  If so, he qualifies.

It's considered as non-taxable income, but I guess, it might be possible since you can include other non-taxable income. Or am I wrong?

What kind of documentation can he obtain that shows how much, how often, and for how long? I am asking because I have never filed a lawsuit or gained a settlement. Does he have court documentation saying - Awarded $xxx, xxx.xx payable over 20 years at $xxx.xx per month.
