Good Morning,

My fiancée I-212 expedite was approved in April 28. The expedite came from a congressman and approvednin Nebraska.

The case was transferred to Atlanta on May 28. I was told the case would be adjudicated in Nebraska and was confused why it was transferred. Was told it was normal.

Now, my congressman contacted USCIS field office in Atlanta to ask about the expedite approval. They informed us that the Expedite request does not transfer. We had to put another expedite request in at the local office.

I’ve searched the forms and not found anything like this before. I believe Atlanta is  making up thier own rules. They even have my congressman liaison person believing that this is correct.

Ive spoken with a t1 agent about this and they have been confused as well. Unfortunately, I can’t get transferred to a t2 agent until Monday due to  them not accepting transfers. Due to call load.

Im trying to find answers about this and I’m very confused on how they can say approved for expedite but then another office won’t honor the approval.  Any help or tips on what to do forward would be greatly appreciated.

From what I’ve seen on Facebook groups and here is that all 212s approved for expedite in Nebraska was approved there. They were never transferred like mine.

Seems odd a I212 would be adjudicated by Nebraska, Atlanta sounds more likely.

From what I know about expedites each office or service center (or the NVC) have their own expediting process. If you were to ask for an expedite at USCIS you again have to ask for one at NVC and again at the Embassy if needed. It seems to be the same for the waivers I guess. Sometimes the second office will auto-approve the expedite if the previous office approved it but its still a process. The only thing I can say is perhaps some of it goes on behind the scenes so people dont report it as happening because they didnt see it happen- but it did.
