Does petitioner go to the interview?

Sorry if this is a commonly known thing, but we aren’t using a lawyer and everything is kind of foggy. I’m wondering if I have to bring my husband (American) to the interview in Montreal? Only reason I ask is the less days he has to take off work for that, the more we can use for our honeymoon! Thanks!

I read from member’s post that starting April this year, they don’t allow anyone anymore to go inside with you in Montreal. He will have to wait outside. So... if you are fine without him, it should be ok.

It's certainly not required, but it can be beneficial. If you have a strong case already (and Canada is so low fraud to begin with...), I wouldn't be too concerned about not being there.

 

Edit: Not all consulates allow the beneficiary there. Some will allow therm at the window. Some will allow them inside. Some won't even allow them inside.

The beneficiary can hold the other's passport as evidence they are physically there even if they are not allowed inside.
