Salary Evidence Needed?

After reading some interview experiences, I'm unsure about the following..

I have more than adequate funds to do self support on the financial side of things, my fiancee hasn't been working for the last 6 months, but starts his new job next week so his earnings will only be his unemployment payments.

Do I need to still show his W2's and payslips at my interview? Or will my bank statements showing my funds suffice?

I take it all they're worried about is that I won't be begging them for money, no matter who pays for me. I've said on my DS-156 (or whichever one it was) that I will be paying for my trip.

Thanks

Helen

I think it is great that you will have money but I do believe they are concerned with the USC. I (being the petitioner) have to supply-a letter from my employer, a letter from my bank & a few pay stubs. If your fiance is collecting unemployment(or has in the past) maybe you should consider a co-sponsor?? My fiance will be paying for his trip as well, but I think they are concerned with how he will get by once he is here & can't work for a while.

I am sure others will let you know exactly what to do

Yes, UKers have been able to self sponsor but I believe they must have a certain amount available to them (can't remember what amount tho  ).

If that is not feasible, the USC must provide an employer letter, a bank letter (or the last 3 years tax returns if self employed), and the I 134. If these are not sufficient, then a cosponsor is accepted.

Most of the london forums have disappeared in the black hole jenn3539!

I have in excess of £50,000 which I presume is enough for self sponsoring? According to the docs in packet 3, all I need to supply is my bank statements and a letter from the bank. I was just worried if they were concerned what he was doing for money and he had to prove he had an income at all.

Thanks for your comments guys, I'll cover all avenues just in case :)

P.S. Is it normal to convince yourself you have a dread disease just before your medical?!!!

How exciting and draining all of this is!

At this moment I am filling out my I-134 for my fiancee who has an appointmen in London later in February. Somewhat to my dismay I see that, as her sponsor, I need a statement from the officer of my bank declaring certain information about my account. I had thought that bank statements sent to my house, as well as information printing off of online banking sites would be sufficient. Are these in fact insuffficient and is the "statement" only acceptable in the form of a letter rom a bank employee? How long should I expect this to take?

That all depends on your bank. Mine would not give me the letter that I needed. They only gave me a letter stating when I opened the account and that I am in good standing. So I used that along with some recent bank statements.
