Can I ring the London embassy

Hello, I'm sure you are all getting sick of seeing me LOL I know I ask so many questions, aha. But here I am again with another one. A lady I spoke to a week ago on the phone at NVC was lovely she suggested I request an expedite, which I have gone ahead and done. I spoke to the NVC today and someone told me that they sent the request to London on the 7th June. I was unaware they did that. I haven't heard anything back from them as of yet. Can I call the embassy and ask them if they have looked over the expedite request. Or do I have to wait?

I have not known anybody to actually speak to somebody in the Immigrant Visa Unit since they shut down their help line 5-6 yrs ago. They want you to use their contact form to communicate with them.
