London Interview Review, Approved!

Hi all, just wanted to share my experience of my London CR1 interview that I had yesterday- I was approved! Really appreciate your reviews so I’m sharing mine. Just a quick question first, how long have you all waited after approved interview to having passport visa in hand? I understand it goes through AP but curious as to how long it took for you all after interview? Thanks!

Anyway, my experience...

My appointment was scheduled for 11am, I tried my luck at 10.20am and got let in. I had to show my DS260 confirmation page and my passport at the gazebo at entrance. Then airport style security and through to an outdoor line. There were no staff and you couldn’t really do anything but wait. When a lady came out 10 mins later to let us all in, I told her I was an immigrant visa case and she pulled me right to the front and checked me in again with my DS260 page and passport. I was surprised by how many people were there waiting!

You then go up to floor 1, turn left then left again to a small section of about 7 windows. My number was called at a window after about 10 mins and a nice lady asked for my birth certificate, marriage certificate, police certificate, passport, one US size passport photo, and courier confirmation letter. All checked and good, she had my medical (did that on June 1st) and handed me back my x Ray CD to keep. She also asked when I planned on going to the US.

This was all done by 11am (before my appt time!) but then I had about an hour wait for the next bit. There only seemed to be one lady doing this interview section. I was surprised that you just stand at a window for it.

I got called up and she was pleasant but firm, which is understandable because of her job. She handed me back my birth and marriage certificate. She asked me to tell her about our relationship, where we got married, where my husband lives now and how long has be been there, if his job is the same as when we met, what I plan to do out there. It was more conversational than interrogation. She was looking at a computer through some of this, in hindsight I’m guessing this was to check my answers. Then she just goes “ok you’re approved” with a smile, handed me a slip about waiting 7-10 days for return of passport and said bye! It was so quickly approved I was shocked, and I confirmed I’d get my passport in the mail. I was headed out by 12.20pm and by this point the lines outside were huge.

I’m over the moon but trying to keep calm until I actually have the visa back, because I know things can still take a while. Hope this is helpful to anyone with upcoming interviews! Good luck.

and I confirmed I’d get my passport in the mail.

It doesn't come in the mail (Royal Mail). You register for a courier service...either home delivery or pickup at a depot.

Be sure and add your review to the other London reviews.

Thank you! Ok great, good to know. It changed to “Issued” on the CEAC tracker already so hopefully I get it back in a similar time frame to you, with the home delivery courier that I registered for.

Oh thanks for the link, I’ll add it! And yes sorry that was just my wording of the next step - I have registered for home delivery so will be receiving it back that way.
