Please describe Biometric Interview...

My wife has her biometric interview next week. Can someone tell me what we need to bring to the interview and what to expect...thanks!!!

We brought the biometrics appointment letter and his ID, which at the time was his passport and his Cdn driver's permit. The appointment was short and there were no problems. We were there maybe 20 minutes all total.

Don't forget if you're doing AOS after a K-1 visa, you also need to bring your marriage certificate as proof for your name change (if you have changed it).

It's pretty basic. You fill out a form. They take all your fingerprints. They take a picture. The end.

We filled out the form, then waited. And waited. And waited. They wouldn't let us sit together - immigrants on one side, those who accompanied on the other.

We waited for about 2.5 hours until they finally called him. After that, it took about 10 mins.

I just had my biometrics appointment a week ago. While it was in St. Louis, one thing I will mention is that my appointment was at 1 pm. I arrived at 12:40 pm and there was no one there but me. I filled out the form, showed them my appointment letter and passport, and was processed immediately. When I left the office and went to the waiting room at 1pm...the room was packed! Go early if you can. I think everyone was told to be there at 1pm!

My biometrics review is in my signature line. Easy, quick, painless. I got there 30 mins early and didn't have to wait because there was no one else there.

I took the letter, my passport and marriage license to show change of name proof, I asked if they wanted to see it and they said no, just passport was fine was they assumed my name was changing as I was a K-1.

For me the worst thing about it was the 2 1/2 hour drive to get there!

Make sure you don't have cuts on your fingers - they look for that, as well as don't wear hand lotion.. those were a couple of things I learned!

We were in and out in +- 20 minutes.

We arrived 20 minutes early and that was no problem.

There were a lot of people there and the line moved smoothly and quickly.

They said it all, but one thing I did NOT expect in my biometrics was being asked to smile and being asked if the picture is okay for my taste, haha! Not that it matters though
