Have they received your petition?

Has anybody else in this thread heard any new information?

On Wednesday we are calling the USCIS, since the 90 days passed, and I am very much looking forward to a solution.

For what I heard, they will recreate the approved petition and send it again to NVC.

She hasn't heard anything and calls seem futile (I'm her petitioner :)).

But a girl in her FB group with an IOE receipt number and USCIS approval date of mid-March recently received her NVC case number.

We are April 1 approval (insert joke here...lol), so we're hopeful it will come soon.

What is an IOE receipt number ?

Yeah i mean this is just a joke, and i wonder whatever happened to the petition.

If they actually send it to the wrong place or just lost it.

I would just think it would be hard to make mistakes like this since they are sending the petitions to one location, and have probably done that for years.

If it was a private company/organisation this would never happen.

I hope you guys get your case number soon.

I finally got a message from NVCresearch that they received my petition and I have to wait  8 weeks before I resubmit an inquiry to NVC.

My wife (US citizen) called the USCIS yesterday and after talking to 3 reps they finally allowed her to speak to a supervisor (they are the only one allowed to reissue).

So they finally reissued our petition which can take up to 10 days, and then they will send it to the NVC again.

Hopefully they receive it this time.

Now I’m nervous reading all this posts. We just got our 130 approved yesterday after waiting 1 year../the thought of something else going wrong makes me physically ill.

Good luck to you guys and hopefully you hear something soon!

I think it's very rare that this actually happens, so dont worry about it.

I got my NOA2 after 12 months as well. :)

Our petition was approved almost 3 months ago. I sent an inquiry to NVCResearch 2.5 months later, and they confirmed that they didn't have it, and they said they'd start looking for it and reaching out to USCIS. Well, 3 weeks have passed, and nothing. I did call NVC last week and the reps words were (literally): "NVCResearch is working on it. They will take all the time they need. You can call us to see if we've received it but it won't make the process any faster." Starting to feel pretty hopeless about the situation. My wife, myself, and our 1-year old daughter were planning on taking a trip to bring my stepdaughter/wife's daughter to the US this September or October (about 14-15 months after the CR1 was submitted) and it's all been brought to a halt. Really don't know what to do at this point. Lawyer? Reaching out to congressman? Wait more?

If I were you, I wouldn't be waiting endlessly. You are outside the normal processing times already. I don't think a lawyer can help you in this situation. Your congressman certainly can make an official inquiry on your behalf.

Also, you have options of filing a complaint against USCIS. Writing or calling them usually has no effect. But you can contact Office of Inspector General

Also in these cases you need to speak to a Tier 2 Rep (supervisor). Whenever we've been talking to the USCIS and NVC, they all say that we just have to wait and when we say we want to speak to a tier 2 rep, that the supervisor is just going to say the same. This is definitely not true, the supervisors we have been speaking to have been really helpful to us, and have actually getting things done.

After the 90 days passed we called USCIS because we waited the time they said we should, the tier 1 rep, just said that they can't do anyhting. But the Tier 2 said that they were really sorry this happened to us, and she will recreate the case and it will get sent to NVC withing 10 days. And 7 days later we got at notification that our petition was sent to the NVC.

We're just over 90 calendar days from the approval. Going to call USCIS this afternoon when I get home from work. Do calls to USCIS still take forever? I remember after convincing the Tier 1 rep that I needed to speak to a supervisor, I ended up waiting on hold for over an hour to speak to the Tier 2 rep.... trying to plan how much time I need to block off. Thanks for sharing your story.

Are you the US citizen?

If yes, then they take your number and the tier 2 rep will call you back, but as i understood it only works if your have a US number.

Yes, I am a US citizen w/a US phone number, petitioning my stepdaughter. The call back sounds nice and beats waiting 1-2 hours on hold.... I haven't called USCIS for over 18 months so I'm a bit out of the loop haha. Thanks again.

No worries, we just been through it all, and hopefully getting the case number soon, so we can move on.
