Once again thanks for the help @Moon&Stars, these numbers do not go to the consulate, they go to ustraveldocs as i said earlier and that agency does not offer any relevant help especially on immigrant visas. It also appears to be offshore so they do not have any access operationally to the consulate or the consular section of the Accra embassy. But thanks anyway, you have been such an angel with all the feedback and effort.

Is there a possibility that the consulate emailed you with further updates/instructions and it went to your junk folder? Just trying to think of possible scenarios.....especially after them holding onto your passports.

Okay no one has asked what Visa type are you trying to come to US on? You said whole family yet you are sending to all kinds of emails.

Is this a Diversity Lottery Visa?

If you haven't gotten a response I believe because you are contacting the wrong email.

So again what type Visa was interview for? Who all was part of interview and expecting to immigrate or is this tourist? Need more infor sorry.

It would also be helpful to you to complete your profile so your country flag shows that way your answer can be in the Ghanaian portal and you may get more exact specific answers.

Thanks @SusieQQQ (face slap)

This email is for American Services only so you won’t be hearing form them. The DVaccra@state.gov have no idea where you got that but that also isn’t an address to use. Since you are immigrating you need to be emailing the IV Unit.

If your inquiry is regarding Immigration visas, please send an email to IVACCRA@state.gov

Please include in your correspondence/email the following:

* Your full name
* Your case number (should be a 10 digit number such as ACC2007123456)
* State whether you are the applicant or the petitioner
* Clearly state your question or concern in the subject line (such as Scheduling Question or DNA Question)

the dvaccra address appears to be a legit one, for exampe see https://photos.state.gov/libraries/ghana/231771/PDFs/acs_appointment-system-info.pdf

Ghana always has a ton of DV selectees (2484 in the current fiscal year) so it kind of makes sense to have a separate email.

Still, if he hasn't tried the general IV address it's worth a try seeing as nothing else  is working

Thanks @SusieQQQ for your quick response.

1. All my emails accompany my case number and in some cases my passport number and that of my dependents.

2. There is no 'direct phone number' to the consulate. The available phone numbers goes to ustraveldocs(an agency that processes usually non-immigrant visa appointments). That agency does not sit at the consulate, I believe it is offshore. They will usually take my message and tell me they will follow-up. Its been just that and no feedback.

3. After my interview I was given a collections instruction sheet to register with DHL for pick-up, I have been to DHL severally even though they are to send sms but there is no record of my passport ever being delivered there. Indeed, if my passport was ready for pick-up, the ustraveldocs agency would have been able to give me update when I call.

It's disappointing as it is frustrating. I did not expect the USA consulate have such low standard of client relations or a courtesy of care to its clients. I have kids involved and to think that they can keep my passport when they are not ready to issue the visas is the lowest point of thought I could ever have of them.

It seems to be a problem with the busy embassies, not so much with the quieter ones

for many of us ....US bureaucracy is a vast improvement over where we come from. I laugh when people complain about the DMV. It’s the model of efficiency compared to where I come from.

I've had issues with the embassy in Accra several times and no responses to emails as well. My wife who is a US citizen went there on US citizens service days and spoke to an agent. We got things sorted out. I do know in your case you might not have that option since its DV. But I would try to go there and speak to the security guards on the right side of the building (2nd circular roundabout) at around 3 PM they can telecom and get you in if an officer is willing to see you. Bring dated paperwork with you so that the security can confirm that you had a previous appointment and a passport in their possession.

Thanks for the feedback. i really appreciate that. I have sent mails to IVAccra several times, they never respond. The referenced case number above is for immigrant visas other than DV. DV cases always have this sequence, 2019AF123456789.

The DV email address is usually given by the clerks at the consulate when you go there and wish to make a follow-up, its even pasted on the glass windows of the security post at the entrance. I always send my mails with multiple recipient addresses of all known contact addresses of the consulate.

This just looks like a special treatment for folks around here. For a professional like me who had so much respect and held the USA in such high esteem, its been a very very disappointing experience for me.

If you care to know, sometimes things happen too. Just take a look at the conversation below between myself and a 2018 DV selectee who went through a painful experience at the same consulate.

Thanks a lot, i will try this recommendation. I have not been there yet with a copy of my original selection and appointment letters. I will revert with whatever I get, I am doing this so I can leave a digital imprint of my experienec for future selectees to also learn from. For this reason, I appreciate all the feedback am currently getting.

Thanks

I honestly think they could do things better, I mean I expected the U.S. to be the standard for such things and not the ones doing the ills.

At this rate I think its safe to say that, the u.s. consulate in Accra has no respect for locals, period. I have used all those emails, none of them atracts any form of response or whatsoever.
