From the AOS stats it looks like one of the worst :(   https://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php?cfl=

I only filed in November 19, so it looks like I'm in for a long wait

L1-B & L2 to AOS (EB3 skilled)

Northern Virginia (DC Office)

22nd November 2019: NOA1 received

18th December 2019: Biometrics completed

23rd December 2019: Transferred to NBC

28th February 2020: Ready for interview

3rd March 2020: i-797C stating interview scheduled for April 7th

<--- Interviews cancelled due to Covid --->

20th October 2020 - i-797C stating permanent residence approved (Welcome to the United States of America)

31st October 2020 - Both green cards in hand!

Seems like they’re currently scheduling April filers so the whole process takes at least 11-12 months! We filed on April 22 so we’re hoping to hear something soon!

Blimey that's quite the wait.

btw, the last notice I got was that my wife and my 485s were transferred to the NBC. Since then we've had no more updates for around 50 days. We've already had biometrics taken in Alexandria on 12/18/19

There seems to be conflicting information on whether I'll get another note stating it's moved to the Fairfax field office, or it'll just get updated to 'ready to interview' - Anyone have any input on that?

Not everyone gets the same status updates! Ours went from "biometrics scheduled" to "ready to be scheduled for interview" three months after we did the biometrics!

hey there! You will not get an update stating that it has been moved to the Fairfax office. After the biometrics notice, the next one would be the one that says "Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" That's the point when they also transfer it to the local field office so that's how you know it's been transferred there

So just how slow is the DC office?

It is indeed one of the slowest offices. I would plan for an 11-12 month wait as of current processing times. Mine is going to be almost exactly 12 months when all is said and done. Good luck!

ah that's useful to know. seems a fair wait from that as it was a good 50 days ago and no new updates yet. But it's just a waiting game 😕

hoping you hear something soon!! It seems that the wait time to when it changes to "ready to be scheduled" varies greatly between cases.. mine took a week after my biometrics and a friend of mine's took about 5 months.. I hate how unpredictable the process is

March visa bulletin released showing EB3 now have a final action date of 01Jan17 and also states 'The March final action date is 01JAN17 and is being imposed immediately for all future requests for numbers.  This action will allow the Department to hold worldwide number use within the maximum allowed under these FY 2020 annual limits.  No forward movement of this date is expected in the foreseeable future'

Considering I'm EB3 with a priority date of 08/12/19 that means I'm possibly looking at years now? 😕
