So we had our interview January 12th My wife is a US citizen. The documents we brought were:

  1. Updated lease for 2020 with our names on it + 2019 lease with our names
  2. Joint tax return for 2019
  3. Her mother giving us a 30K wedding gift
  4. Joint bank account (checking/saving) with a decent amount of money in it
  5. Photos with friends/family and on trips (around 20)
  6. Our joint insurance (she is on my plan)
  7. my 401k with her as beneficiary
  8. her 401k with me as her beneficiary
  9.  Our ID's showing same address
  10. Joint Invitation card to wedding (pre covid)

This was on top of the previous stuff we submitted for our I485 initial application. Our IO was super nice and did not ask anything beyond birthdate and how we met. Nothing else. She also loved my wifes company as their cause resonated with the IO.That being said after the interview we got a paper saying our case is "under review" and no updates since then. (We filed in november 2019). Any idea on when we will be approved? Would we get an RFE? The IO was super nice and did not ask us much and kept saying how sweet we were and all that.

I’m in the exact same position. Filed nov 2019, also had my interview on January 12, and my case also says it’s being reviewed. We got along well with our IO and had a lot of evidence to back up our marriage (joint lease, bank accounts, taxes, insurance, photos, trips,etc.). IO wasn’t interested in most of this, but said he was happy and gave us the letter. Please keep me in the loop whenever your status changes!

Yes,our IO did not examine our stuff and just looked at the photos. I wonder how long it will take for an update....

Just hate getting an RFE since there is not much else in terms of evidence that we can provide besides perhaps an affidavit or two.

No Updates and It has been more than a week since our interview.

I know the wait is terrible!! Our approval took 9 or 10 days back in December and we didn't have the holidays beefmaster2 mentioned.

Feeling kind of nervous after reading this. Any advice you’d give? Our interview is next week iA🙏🏼

Hey,

I just wanted to share. It's always good to be over prepared and really just be yourself. They can only ask so many questions. We just received an update that the card is in production so I think our nervousness just got the best of us. Good luck and share your experience once it's all done.

I had my interview yesterday (26-jan-2021).

everything was going nice and smooth. Officer ask usual questions like how did you met? Etc.

Its took about 20 mins. Io officer was a young lady. And she checked our photos which is we have a lot of them and we proved every step in our relationship from beginning to end. She satisfied and she stop to look any other evidence. And at the end of interview officer didnt ask for any additional evidence, she said “if you want to give me any updated paper you can give but i dont ask for anything specifically” thats was little weird for us. Because we prepared two big folder and what should we can give? Its confusing situation. We asked if she wanna anything specifically but she said no feel free. Anyway we decided to give her bank statements, rental agreement and insurance papers. We were planning to give her some bills but she said no need it. Your case is fine and it seems very good. There is no problem. But she didnt say anything about aprove or not. I think officer cant say that any longer.

At the begging she stated seriously but at the and she was talking like a friend. It was smooth interview. Than she gave us a paper and said i completed your interview bla bla classic ending. And then we all left from the room and she came with us all the way. Even she talked about my spartan bag icon :) While we walking together. so we thought everything is ok. But when we left from there after couple hours my case turn in to “case is completed and it must be reviewed”.

this make me worry because everything seems good so why status is like that?

also one of my friend has exact same time and same place interview with us but different io. And after interview we had launch together. We talked about interviews. And their interview was tough. They push them so hard. And their situation has some issues. They were worried a lot. But their situation turn into “card being produced” at launch. My status changed after couple hours. Thats was weird also.
This things make me worry why she didnt give us same status and said must be reviewed. It’s annoying i hope there is no rfe or something. Because we had everything in our hand but now they will check and what if there is additional evidence request? So annoying to think about it.

Just wanna share my experience. Will keep update. Hopefully it wont take long time and i will get my greencard soon.
