Hey guys, I just recieved my EAD card with my surname spelled wrong. I've put the e-request on USCIS website and I have to send the card back to the Benefits Center. Has anyone experienced the same thing? My biggest question is Can I start applying for jobs while my card is there and the error is being fixed? I'm so sad it happened and I'd like to start applying for jobs as soon as possible. Thanks a lot for your help, guys

Don't quote me on this but I would say YES, you can.  You also should have received a separate EAD Approval letter.  That should be sufficient with some employers to get the ball rolling on jobs.  Some employers may request to see a copy of your card so I'd recommend scanning or taking good photos of it before sending it back.  You can inform employers that USCIS got your name wrong and they should be correcting it.

When you actually get and accept a job, you may have to help your employer fill out an I-9 form.  You can look at the form on USCIS website.  That is when you might actually have to provide copies of your accurate EAD card.  But considering that it can take a little time to land a job, hopefully your EAD comes back in time.

Just checked the processing times for DC for I-485... I guess 'good news' the top end came down, bad news the bottom end moved up?

Amazing! Keep us posted on your process! I filed Nov 2019 and have been ready for interview since Jan 2020. Still waiting for that update :)

For those of you lucky enough to get scheduled for an interview... Any sense on what typical wait time from 'Ready to Schedule' to "Interview Scheduled" is these days? 6 months? 9 months? 12 months?

11 months for us. That was with the Covid shut down though

Ooof. Thanks. So basically 'expect 10-12 months' as a best case scenario at this point. @beefmaster2 let me know when you finally get scheduled. Fingers crossed things speed up with a new president in January...

From ready to schedule to Interview scheduled status change was 12 months and two days.

From time applied it has been 14 months and I suspect my interview will be in December which means a 15 month wait from applying to interview if my guess is correct. Hope my letter arrives soon so I can update everyone!

Hi everyone! We just completed our interview on Thursday and we got our greencard! We were interviewed at the Fairfax office and the USCIS officer couldn't have been nicer. The most important evidence she paid attention to was lots of Photos with captions, and she especially liked that both our parents were there for our wedding. I had an absolute TON of evidence,. Like I'm talking 2 inch thick stack of paper. Just waiting for our greencard to come in the mail now. It's gonna be pretty tight seeing my EAD expires on January 2nd 2021 😳. The USCIS Officer said that the cards are taking a while to be printed and delivered since there has been such a back up and they only print them from one office. She suggested that I get something called a "infopass" appointment to get a stamp in my passport that shows that my I-485 was approved, and that I'm waiting for my card to arrive. She also said I should schedule it now for mid December, as they only have so many appointment blocks a day and I wouldn't want to leave it too late.

Has anyone got the interviews scheduled for November in DC ? My status has been saying "case is ready to be scheduled for an interview" for a month and a half. Thanks a lot, guys.

Mine is almost 7 months, since May it shows like that. Hopefully they will set up an appointment and we can get our greencard. I even dont want to think about expired papers. I dont have more energy to collect them again. And especially when something not your mistake but they say you have to... thats so bad.
