Medical Exam question

Question for anyone who has completed the medical exam (particularly at Medikom).  My fiancee's exam at Medikom is a week from today (Thursday, June 20).  The visa appointment at the embassy is on August 13.

 

Will she learn next Thursday if there is any need for additional tests or if everything is okay?  Or does it take a few days to get some of the results?  I've read previous posts about things found in certain tests that could cause delays before receiving the K-1 visa.

 

Also, unless my fiancee misunderstood, the woman she spoke with said the appointment is at 8 am and she won't get out until 1 or 2 pm.  Does this whole medical examination really take 5-6 hours?

In my experience they provide results via lack of bad news. If everything is good, they do not say it, and they do not actually give you "results" (they are in sealed packet) BUT if they find something, they will tell you, and offer treatment. The most common cause of the delay is them seeing something on XRay "a shade" or something along those lines. That triggers "we need to run culture tests for TB" In extreme cases of they need sputum test, it can take awhile. 
And yes, it can easily take 5-6 hours. They should provide free sandwiches and coffee from the vending machine. Understand the place is just a clinic. It deal with normal patients as well as visa applicants, so there will be a lot of sitting around and waiting, and being shuffled between different rooms.
