I think everyone is shouting loud in front of a mirror. Why are you all freaking out so much? I though America's great security threat was the rise of Islamic fundamentalism. Perhaps I was reading last year "intelligence" report ? :reading::lol:

So, who's going to be in the play offs?

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....

Yee Haw..

Lets go back to the fence for a while. What color should it be? Usually they are just galvanized wire.. Lets make ours out of Stainless steel and powdercoat different strands in different colors. That would look nice.

I always thought a good way to get the illegals to go home would be to sieze any car stereo louder than 65db. Either that or have the DOT ban reclining bucket seats.

Like I said before......cut the $$$ off at the source.....Impose heavy fines and if that isn't incentive enough....add some lengthy jail time for any employer who would hire an illegal....Open up snitch lines too.......If you attack it from this angle.....then the illegals will go home...cause they won't have the $$$$.....How do they contribute to the economy now when they send it all home anyway? ...Don't expect the Mexican gov't to do anything about it as American dollars keeps their economy moving forward.

AOS was officially approved via email notice from USCIS on August 10th/2005, 622 days from the filing of the I-130 in Nebraska on November 26/2003, the very first day that we started our immigration journey.

Received 10 year green card on August 15/2005.

Our thanks to the creators of visajourney and all those here who helped us along the way..May God bless you and strengthen you on your visajourney....and now life goes on.

How would you know the difference between my husband, who is here legally from Mexico, and the one's who aren't? You can't have people calling and reporting every "brown skinned" person just because they think they are here illegally. That's just stupid. Heck, my brother and a couple of my cousins are just as dark and look like Mexicans but were born here. How do you think they would feel if someone "thought" they were illegal and reported them.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

I came here on a k-3 visa and my employer thoroughly checked my documentation before I was hired....the same thing when I received my green card....Employers absolutely know what they are doing when they hire illegals and have no excuse for their actions whatsoever....and apparently they openly admit to their other employees and anyone that they do so..That is how you know if a coworker is working illegally.

I was referring to employers that openly hire illegals and brag about it..Of course others will know.

Canuck4USA,

Some employers ask for employment authorization documents. Some do not. The latter are the real problem.

As for the former, the USCIS does NOT require them to be document experts. What that means is, if you present a document to them, they are merely required to visually inspect the document and if it looks authentic, they are supposed to accept it. There is no system in place to verify each and every I-9 document presented by a potential employee. There should be, but there isn't.

yea thats the same problem I was thinking of.. there r a bunch of arseholes who think that every mexican is illegal.. so snitch lines for average joes.. dunno.. for employers.. well.. its true, USCIS doesn't tell employers to be document specialists and try to find if their card is real or fake.. of course, with common sense u can see if an id is real or not..

Depends on how good the forgery is.

Making it mandatory for employers to check documents for authenticity, much in the way the SSA does, would be a good start.

But the big problem are all the employers who don't even ask for papers.

You wouldn't. The onus to provide evidence of someone's illegality would be on the informant.

This is similar to the IRS "rat tax" -- you can report anyone for tax evasion and get up to 15%

of whatever the IRS recovers from that person in an audit.

oh for real?? I knew some guys here in mickey d's that would mess up their taxes

now.. what kind of evidence would USCIS accept?? I mean.. would ur neighbor come to the door and say 'hey, how u doin, u know.. amh.. are u an illegal? may I see your green card?'.. rather than that stupid example, I cant see other way of people (not employers) asking for evidence of legal statuts

If a USCIS rat-line existed, I think most of the reports would be based on hearsay.

make the U.S. social security card verification system open to all companies...the illinois driver license uses it as does other state agencies...do the same for ead...make it a requirement to check..those companies to small can hire an outside agency to do this..see creates more jobs

But you do need a ssn to get a job anywhere..and if you are illegal..you have to provide the documentation to the people at the social security office in order to get it....They took my ead and greencard into the backroom and put it under the blacklight and verified it was genuine..They also had to have verification from immigration before my social security card could be released. They couldn't have done that with a photcopy..Have you seen the new green cards lately? I don't know how anyone could make one...and getting a driver license without id......how do they do that?

Also....if there are fake ssn out there...where does the tax witheld at source of pay go to and what happens at income tax time? I don't know how they manage to do it.
