Why do people here illegally think they are not criminals? Does that mean that all those people in the prisons who broke our laws are not criminals either?!!!!

#######... isn't it hypocritical for the dumb azz president to "preach we are a nation of laws", and "we are a welcoming nation", yet WE ALL ARE GOING THROUGH HE11 to do things leagally and paying BIG BUCKS...yet ol' prez pubic bush wants to forget the existing laws and forgive the illegals of breaking those laws and GIVE them the privilege and benefit of being here. What a #### FUKC!

You're right except for one small thing: just because we're going through immigration he11 doesn't mean we should wish the same on other people.

The House Bill is a prime example of election year politics without any sense of reality. It doesn't do anything to reform what is wrong with the immigration system but instead focuses exclusively on immigration enforcement. You can be certain that the House as always is big with words but unwilling to provide enough money to try and sentence 1000 illegal workers a year, let alone go after the companies who hire illegals.

It is not immigration enforcement that is lacking in this country but sufficient funds and ideas to reform a non-functioning moloch that causes endless wait-times and unnecessary separation. None of this is provided by this bill which is anti-immigration in all possible ways. What they want is to close the country to everyone -legal and illegal.

Immigration, the wait times etc...nobody cares about them unless they are personally effected.

I agree with you that they are trying to close the country for all immigrants both legal and illegal. Some say 'it is full'. But I find it contradictory , even hypocritical. This is a nation made up of immigrants from different ethnicites/nationalities. I do not think the native population accounts for more than 1 % in the US.

Then it is first come first served principle. Some people say ' we came here before you did so we own the land'.

Firstly, I do not wish the immigration hell on anyone. I believe any immigrants who are not harmful to our country should have an oportunity to come here through legitimate legal channels.

However, we are a nation of laws, and as such, people who are here illegally are breaking the law. Noone can justify breaking a law and saying it's not a crime... We have border control and immigration laws for a reason. We are a sovereign nation and our borders MUST be respected. Does anyone here just allow anyone that wants to walk into their homes to do so? Hell no! What other countries have open and free immigration to anyone who wants to enter? What other countries allow such clear violation of their laws? What makes illegal people think they have a GOD GIVEN RIGHT to come here against our laws, and why the hell do Americans think it should be allowed?

Our government thinks that if they make new laws that do not require enforcement of the crime then the problem is fixed and they do not have to address the real problem. CHICKEN SH!T I say.

Everyone should always remember this:

In the USA crimianls have more rights that honest law abiding citizens.

Think the immigration process is long now? Let these bills pass into law and USCIS will be so fricking flooded you'll never get through this nightmare...not to mention the people coming illegally are still going to come illegally. And while the government is giving away benefit to illegals, does anyone here think they will get the same benefits just handed to them.

If the gov is giving away free EADs to illegals are they going to stop charging us or give us refunds? Nope!

Who has ever suggested giving out free EADs? Last thing I heard there's another bill in the senate that wants to grant temporary EADs to those that pay steep fines (somewhere in the neighborhood of $3000-4000) plus the necessary fees to process the applications.

I do not think that is a reasonable proposal either because it also does nothing to fix the problem, which let me repeat is USCIS and their procedures, their lack of manpower, and their utter lack of funding. They don't even have enough computers to keep track of what's going on!

Securing borders is not a bad idea, but let me assure you, borders are never entirely impermeable. Immigration enforcement is an illusion given the current state of the budget and the length of the borders (including coastlines) to be watched around the clock.

As to criminals having more laws, let's just not get into that.

That would be extreme injustice if the government attaches a legal status to illegals/undocumented workers while it makes legal immigrants wait months and even years.

Especially if this new proposal by Bush Administration becomes a part of immigration law and slows down an already turtle-paced processing...

No country on earth opens its borders to people from other countries. Only the ones who have huge wealth/capital is allowed for investment purposes and even that takes time. You can not go there walking and expect a welcome whenever you want.

illegal immigrants should be deported back to their country of origin and made to do things properly. If there weren't illegal immigrants, we wouldn't be going through this immigration hell. They are the reasons we've all waited to immigrate and if they are pardoned it is a slap in the face for us.

I need to clarify...Fisch is correct that they are not proposing to give totally free EADS. I was ill-informed on this  .

However: how in the heck is an illegal going to come up with that kind of cash to come here? Sounds like it confirms what I previously state that they will continue to come illegally rather than pay $3-4k.

Is it OK if they paid that to get EADs?

I do not think so.

Then it will mean that if you have money you can be exempt from long waits and be given special treatment.

Taxing it should not legalize something you think is illegal. If it does then it is not illegal ?..

This is my take on the whole situation. I'm a Canadian citizen, so I do not know what it is like to come from an

impoverished country. I was very fortunate. Throughout my AOS process I was legal. In doing so, I have not seen my own family in Canada for more than 2 years (I had an i-130 in Detailed review for 298 days...).

Am I mad that the process is backlogged? YES. Do I believe everyone should have a right to a better life? YES. Do I believe in doing it illegally? NO.

My parents grew up in Communist China. They know what poverty was like. They knew what a corrupt government truly is. Did they arrive in a boat to Canada? NO. They saved every penny they had and waited until the paperwork was finished. When they arrived all they had was a red suitcase and 20 dollars... and this is what they started their life with.

My parents were in the same situation if not worse than many of these "illegals". If my parents who came from a poor peasant village can do it, so can they. They should go back and do the immigration process fairly.

I totally agree....these illegals should not be given special treatment just because they might come from an impoverished background. Sorry...this immigration process hasn't left me with much sympathy for those who try to do things the illegal way.

I'd also yell at those intent (either in the past, present or future) on entering the US through marriage fraud as well -- the ones theoretically doing it "legally" -- they've added a lot of the red tape we now go through.
