Received an email from NVC, CEAC inbox BLANK

Hello everyone!

 

So I'd submitted all my documents on CEAC on the 25th May 2019, and received an email last night saying:

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) updated the status of your immigrant visa application. Please go to the Department of State's Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) at https://nvc.state.gov/ceac. You will need your NVC case number and invoice ID number to log into your account.

Once you have logged into CEAC, please look in your message box or on the Status Chart at the bottom of the page. If NVC has feedback on any items you submitted, there will be a new message with details. If not, please simply follow the updated instructions on your Status Chart to complete your case. If any column says "Pay Now", "Invalid Doc", "Incomplete", or "Re-Opened", that means you must take action by paying a fee, submitting a form, or uploading a corrected/missing document.

I've logged into CEAC multiple times since, but there's been no message. I've had a couple of VJ'ers tell me they waited for a couple of hours before the message came through. It's been a day. Should I be calling them? Any thoughts is appreciated!

Call them. It'll probably take you another day to get through. By that time the message probably appears anyway ...

Mine did not have an immediate message. Don't stress.

Oh right. How long did you wait till it showed up?

I believe I had a message after 48hrs. Also, don't forget the second part of the email from them after you have waited the 2 days and still do not see any messages:

This is your status chart:

• Petition
• Submit a Petition

• After Your Petition is Approved
• Begin National Visa Center (NVC) Processing
• Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC) Processing
• Step 1: Choose an Agent
• Step 2: Pay Fees

• Collect and Submit Forms and Documents to the NVC
• Step 3: Submit Visa Application Form
• Step 4: Collect Financial Documents
• Step 5: Collect Supporting Documents
• Step 6: Submit Documents to the NVC

• Interview
• Prepare for the Interview
• Applicant Interview
• After the Interview

 

Once any of the above are highlighted in red/orange, then that's the step that needs to be completed.

And this highlight is apparent within CEAC? Never really noticed anything highlighted anywhere.

Even if it is NOT highlighted, you should know the step you have reached in the process.

Thanks for your help. All the requested documents had been scanned, uploaded and submitted on the 25th. Last night's was the first email we've had from NVC since. Speaking of an update but no visible signs of one.

Yes. The initial email is usually sent accidentally, but rest assured, you'll receive another notification of an email from NVC very shortly. This has been the weekend so expect something on Monday or Tuesday.
