I filed my N400 the end of May and my biometrics is scheduled for 18 June. As I was driving back from work today, I got into a traffic accident (the lights had changed green and all cars were moving, but the car ahead of me came to a hard stop ). I hit the rear bumper of the vehicle in front of me, but there was no damage to either vehicle. The other driver, however, wanted to file a police report and so a report was filed. No ticket was issued to me. I am freaking out now: WHAT IMPACT WILL THIS HAVE ON MY N 400?  I was issued a ticket for a moving violation three years back, but forgot to disclose that information in my application. However, I was going to disclose that during the interview.  What do I do now? Please advise. I am desolate.

Relax, you'll be ok.  Pay whatever fine is handed down (if there is one) and take proof of payment with you to your interview incase asked for by the IO.

It won't be an issue for your N400.

There was no fine. The police officer was not even too keen on filing a report but the other driver wanted a report. Should I disclose this at the interview or is it inconsequential?

disclose it if asked

but if a traffic accident was cause for concern,   none of us would be citizens

and relax

also,  even if somethings like this happens again,  always report it as driving away is a considered leaving the scene of an accident and that is a big thing

No ticket, no fine----you don't even need to disclose it, but if asked "hey have you been in any traffic accidents?" then answer honestly.

Can you tell me, have the situation with n400 changed in such cases? I also have a problem and I hope that it won't affect my n400.

No, it didn't have any impact on my naturalization interview. As abundant precaution, I even disclosed to the officer that I was involved in a minor accident and a police report was filed (though there were no charges). The officer did not think it was important enough and did not even ask for more details. @julPrat
