Path to Citizenship for a K-2

We filed the N400 online version recently where I was asked for K-2's of which I have two. One is married to a USC (her husband was a prior K-2 also and serving in the Navy whereupon he was able to receive his citizenship) so I believe he is responsible for my K-2 daughter. My other K-2 is 17yo male and I added him also to the online application. I am confused, is that enough to have him qualify for a derivative citizenship based on his mother's approval? Do we file another N400 and pay the fee for him? I'm just a little confused what to expect. Thanks for your reply.

 

BTW she has received her NOA1 and they have scheduled her biometrics appointment.

For my stepdaughter we just used the derivative of her Mom's N400.  Applied for a passport using Mom's naturalization certificate.

 

No need to pay another fee for N400 or N600

Depends on how old the child is when mom takes the oath. If he turns 18 before the oath ceremony, he wouldn't qualify to be a derivative. He would have to apply on his own.

He turns 18 next april and how fast its moving i think we should be fine. Thanks
