I received a letter from USCIS that my stepdaughter's I130 was approved on May 7 2019, and the letter said the petition was being forwarded to the national visa center. I still haven't heard anything from the national visa center a month later. The letter said to wait 30 days before contacting NVC, but I've also heard things have slowed down big time there. Should I give the NVC a call or have people in general been waiting a long time? I obviously want my stepdaughter to get here ASAP but I don't want to sit on the phone for several hours just to be told to wait a little longer .... Thanks!

It takes up to 8 weeks for the NVC to receive and input your case in the system. You can call them now to see if they receive it, and they'll tell you how long more to wait

Oh yeah, expect to wait on the phone for 2-3 days. Welcome to the US immigration system

Thanks for the information. I really hope you mean 2-3 hours, not days ....
