Not a follower. Born in & forcibly indoctrinated. Spot on.

My cousin joined as a vulnerable teenager. Still there and makes me sad because he could have done such great things. Instead, I think it has really impacted his psychological and social well being.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

But isn't it for the greater good?

I'm trying to get out of date night with husband this weekend. I have zero interest in eating out or whatever. I talk to him all the time, it is boring.

If you believe this https://news.uga.edu/total-us-population-with-felony-convictions/, 8% of the US population has had a felony conviction. So, I would suspect one of us might be married to one.

I know a little bit about criminal justice...

Why are you up so early. I thought you were taking a week off?

I've battled insomnia for most of my life. I've made good use out of not being able to sleep. Now, I've learned to cope with it with a strict sleeping pattern.

So far this morning I drank coffee, read the news, watered the plants, adjusted the chemicals in the kid's little pool, and walked the dog.

Now I'm going to do a little banking, read the financial news, and...do a little online shopping.

That's a good idea. I'm hoping I get in better sleeping habits once I'm working.

It's a nice temperature here today. We're going to go out.

Its pretty nice here too. I think The superhot single milfy, wanna come by later with Turtle's bestie later to jump in the pool. May be I'll round up a couple of her little thuggy buddies from her class too. They all miss each other dearly.

Or multiple ones?  Not quite as restrictive, though.

Since fip is new: I was born to an intellectual Catholic and a pagan, was raised in Judaism and Buddhism.

If one could actually make a career out of religious studies, that is probably what I would have done. I have a bunch of classes in it.

Watching castlefest live because I couldn't go this year. It is the Netherlands and is awesome. I really want to go next year, but I also really want to go to the Jorvik takeover in York too. I don't know if I can swing either or both between school/work.

What does that even mean?

I love him, but our strengths lie in the day to day management of the house, rather than romance.

I wanted to go to an Incubus concert this weekend, but he hates concerts. I'm going to the Manson one next week alone. He doesn't like museums, hiking, bike rides, skiing, independent shops/bookstores/cafes, cultural events, etc. So, I'm like, "what do you want to do?"   Generally, it is see a movie, but it is only the rare occasion that I like a movie enough to want to be all uncomfortable in a movie theater. There isn't much else to do here.

Yeppers. My family has lived in the area for about 1000 years. I'm the first on that side to be born somewhere else. If you knew my maiden name you wouldn't have even asked.  Regardless, certain parts of Yorkshire are the only places I go to, look around, and think "these people look like me".  I don't know if that is a good or bad thing.
