I got a job I wanted, husband is enthusiastic as a wet noodle. He thinks I'll hate it. Hates the fact it's not 40 hours a week but when I work 40 hours a week he bitches that I'm never home? It pays more so for less work so I'm making equivilant money (slightly more) and the drive is about 10 mins longer. I was interviewing for the same postition for a different company and he seems to think thats a better spot BUT it pays less, drive is the same, and I'm virtually on call 24/7. This is my option... I havent had any other calls or emails even for minimum wage jobs (which he said he was fine with me working). ####### does he want? Saying no to a perfectly good job when i have a car payment doesnt sound logical.

Congrats, Nicki! In the end, it only matters what you want in regards to a job. No one is going to help you do the job so you need one that you'll be satisfied with. Good work on the job search and thanks for keeping us posted. Always interested in stories of people searching for work.

He doesn't get to decide what you do for work. How silly of him. I don't see him stepping up with a second job or driving Uber to help with that car payment of yours.

Also, Congrats!

He can cover the car payment without me working and without working another job.  But its my car.  And right now we have no extra money.  Me working means we can do things occasionally.

In the end he doesnt want me to hate my job.  That's his perspective.  He wants me happy more than he cares about how much i make or how much i work.  And i cant fault him for that.  Just the way he goes about getting his point across.

I get it. Mine told me to open a bookstore rather than find another job because he thought that would make me happier.

A bookstore? In 2019?  It is a fun retirement hobby or something, but so impractical.

I mean, I could compost them, but I'd rather not.

I use compostable and paper straws and then actually put them in my compost. It is an experiment to see how long they actually take to break down.
