But you're hired for the first interview right?

Technically I have to meet with the COO first, but the OM wants to hire me yes.  To be honest it's my first choice anyhow but since I'm not one to throw all my eggs in one basket, I will keep applying for jobs regardless.

And why are all my long lost friends trying to catch up with me on July 4th?

They have the day off? You are known for throwing big parties? They miss you?  They need something?

It's insane here. Everyone and their cousin is letting off fireworks. The dog has lost her tiny little mind. Medicated, wearing her thunder coat, every distraction known to man here in the house, and still.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

poor thing.  I am thankful that my pets don't react to fireworks.

Went to a parade and fireworks for the first time in years yesterday, since it was PRG's first 4th of July in the US.

Snuck in pina coladas between a thing at one of the parks nearby and the parade.

So pretty great.

Been a weird few days..

My parents and younger sister packed up to go to Spain and Italy to see my older sister and one of the exchange students they hosted. They left on the fourth and asked my husband and I to drive up to the airport with them so we could take the car back so there were no long-term parking fees. I have no idea what I'm going to have to deal with trying to pick them up because today they changed the traffic patterns at the airport since KC's airport is getting redone and there is construction everywhere. Been a bit jealous of them going since my husband and I were suppose to go to a wedding in the UK (that was being held today). He doesn't have travel documents so we never bought tickets, so we don't get to go on fun adventures outside of the US. It caused our Independence day to be a bit dull. Our town cancelled the fireworks show since both high schools are having construction done and they didn't want it to be unsafe for viewers. My parent's city did fireworks on the 3rd so we went there and spent the night. First time since getting married we have slept in separate beds. First time since getting married we both have slept through the night completely!

Nobody was at work today so my team had a deal with my manager that we could leave at 2pm if we hit a certain goal. We hit it, but at about 1:40pm my manager saw on Twitter that the highway that runs outside our window was being shut down because of a suicidal man! So we all stopped what we were doing and ran toward the windows. Sure enough there were police cars, a fire truck, an ambulance, and people standing on the highway. We all watched for about 15 minutes hoping we'd see the police succeed in talking the guy out of it before we left. We all thought at first there was a man standing on the ledge, but then we saw another guy standing under one of the overpasses and though maybe they were trying to yell at him from afar and keep him from running out into traffic. We didn't get to see the conclusion, but 4 hours after it started the man was talked off the ledge and agreed to be taken to treatment. My team now has an ethical dilemma on our hands: do we buy binoculars? This was the first suicidal person outside the window, but there have been probably 3 or 4 car fires and at least one toppled semi-truck since I moved into that building 2 years ago.
