You choose to live there.

Well I started my career here my dear madam Trophía....

The hood was awesome until these 1 billion fooks moved in.

Even at the time I rebuilt this house, the hood was great, that's why I invested the money into rebuilding vs moving.

Whydaya think I'm looking to move now. I hate this hood, this city, this state. And everything it stands for. I'm not giving this state another dime to hand out to everyone that I hate.

In the next few years, I'm packing up my operation, or putting it on the block, and moving! And btw, if you do a little googling, NY is bleeding middle, and upper middle class people.

The original destination was NJ. But now I have to reassess that whole idea. Because NJ may very well be worse. It just got rated the least patriotic state in America, NY is #49, and of course, California is #48.

NH is #1, in case you're wondering...

And NH is not a great place to live. I had considered moving there, have lived there, my brothers live there, and I had reconsidered moving there again recently.  It was still a no.

I see Minnesota is #10.

I hate to think where we score.

Himself lived in NH, that's where the 50th reunion will be later this year. He says it's ok, at least  it was then.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

For me, a US Marine, I want to be around neighbors with the same general values.

Most people on my block have the same ideology, it makes it a little better.

Here's the listing. I don't know how they figure it out. But I'm a conservative person, and I want to live in at least a conservative county. Most counties in NY are actually conservative, as is NJ.

The thing is, except for maybe the NE, conservative is going to mean some other things too.  There is a certain portion of people who are going to lump that in with racism, homophobia, and religious bigotry. I know that is a problem in rural Minnesota.  The racism that is dropped in casual conversation here is endemic.  Not that it wasn't an issue where I grew up in New York too.

I wonder that as well. Makes me think of the Mass Observation project, during the second world war, trying to quantify "morale". Is it high? Low? Where does it come from?  If you haven't high 'morale', how cab you improve it?   But with self selecting observers, mostly educated and middle class, it wasn't really a true representation I don't think, of a scientifically balanced cross section of the British society at the time. Not really representative than say a  public poll would have been.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.
