So....it’s official now....my father likes my husband more than he does me....they are going on a backpacking/camping/fishing trip to Colorado in July.

The last time my father wanted me to go camping/fishing/backpacking with him was 1979 (family trip my mother and sister went too....I was 8 years old)

Maybe your dad plans on returning alone

They can't seize anything for property tax. They can only auction off the property.

Yeah, I was talking about after we sue them for getting paint all over our cars.

You can't do that either lol

You can, however, have 10% of their eligible income garnished...

My understanding was I could do it in MN. I'll have to look it back up.  https://www.nolo.com/legal-encyclopedia/judgment-liens-minnesota-46814.html

So the metabolic testing thing was interesting.  I had to do a progressively faster run (could've cycled... but I don't like cycling) for about 30 minutes and he tested my lactate between moving up in range.  I was wearing a hr monitor so that they could see my "fat burning zone."  Which currently is up to 4.5 mph.   It would be better if it was higher, like 5.5 or 6 mph.  Like an actual run, not just walking really fast.  But he will figure out how to raise it. Since I know a thing or two about fitness, I happen to know that regardless if you're working in your fat burning zone or not, you burn more calories when you go hard vs slow so in the end, HIIT is more effective at weight loss than LISS which is what he is trying to tell me.  Now how the heart range and lactate build up relates to my actual lifting it's more interesting to know because he will program my rest times and introduce some super setting, which I tend to avoid.   I know i need to incorporate more cardio and conditioning into my life, but lets be honest, I hate it.  But since I have this stupid bikini contest idea in my head, in 2 years time, I figure may as well start now. He did laugh when I was like "welp there's the cardio for the week!"

They do help the Colorado Avalanche with their conditioning so something must be said for it.

Next week he will do my program and I guess I can do the DEXA scan there, which tells me my problem areas with fat and make sure I have decent bone density.  I have some severe mobility issues in my right shoulder which may be related to my bicep issues, as well as quite a bit in my hips and ankles, which is why my squats seem to suck.

So more foam rolling, more stretching, more conditioning...

Our neighbors haven't mowed their backyard now at all since the snow melted.

The town sent them a letter and they mowed the front, but not the back. Their yard is so small, there is just no excuse for it.

I checked the records and they didn't pay their property taxes this year, no escrow, so I'm guessing no house insurance, which is why we haven't gotten the info from them yet. I think we are just going to proceed to suing them, and then putting a lien on the house if there isn't any funds to seize.

I know how you feel, my ahole neighbors 2 houses didn't mow their yard for over 5 weeks. They just mowed it this week because they had people come in from out of town which is the only reason they mowed it.

The good but stressful thing is that we close on our house this week. We are so excited because this is our first house.

My parent's neighbors are like that. He is from China and owns a warehouse. All his employees crash there and its more like a boarding house. Last year they ripped up all the grass and placed new sod down and it looked pretty nice until it never rained and half the sod didn't graft. So his yard looks like this, but in grass form.

My parents were out of town when they were sodding last year. I went over to their house after I had finished a mud run to hose off. They share a driveway and completely blocked off my access to park there. I had to yell "I LIVE HERE" before anyone would move their trucks. I was still covered head to toe in mud when I got out of my car. Probably confused and scared most of them. My parents also live in a historical neighborhood so some of the rules are more strict than an HOA (they've had to get window replacements approved). I'm surprised no one has called the city on him. My parents have had codes called on them for having scaffolding up for "too long" while they repainted their house.

Is the house worth more than 50k?

Yes, but probably under 100, especially with their bad attempt at painting.

Ok so you'll get paid, if they sell their house. I'm not sure what the homestead exemption is in MN. In NY it's 50k. Meaning, you can't touch the first 50k. But if it's sold for under 50k on paper, you're beat.

In NY, depending on the court, that judgement is on their credit report, provided that you have their SSN. And only the creditor can remove it.

They won't be able to get a mortgage, or even a car loan...

But what's the number we're talking about? A thousand bucks? Forget it, save yourself the aggravation.

It is more the principal of it, I suppose. People here are generally honest, good neighbors, and a handshake is still the standard contract.

This stuff, it isn't normal.
