Plus, she was Islamicaly married in August and lives with her "husband" but not having the French civil ceremony until March. I think it's her "husband's" responsibility to either driver her or pay for her Ubers and she's been really hateful to her father lately, which I don't like.

 

I'm not sure if it was the property owner or the painter. No details, no letter, no return address,  just a bank check.

 

I have access to my mother's accounts, but I'd never withdraw money unless she expressly asked me to because she was disabled or needed something for her second house or whatever. Not sure since they did it while they were in Morocco on vacation with his family. She didn't tell us anything until 2 weeks ago. As far as I know she hasn't converted, but I could be wrong. She will do anything just so long as she gets the ring on her finger and it's done legally in France.

 

They've been seeing each other for 7 years and his mother was well aware. Their last big drama breakup was after his mother got in the middle of one of their arguments, called her a dirty (removed) among other things and threw her out of the house. Mother said she would find a decent girl for her son to marry. We were hoping that she would move on after that. If Frenchie tries to talk to her about it she just screams at him and he ends up with a sick migraine afterwards. It's a long story and a complicated relationship and not one that will end well. I give it 2 years tops.

Was downtown for other reasons this morning, so stopped by SSA to get the name updated on PRG's Social Security card. Clerk tries to convince us that because her old Social Security card said Anastasiia [Patrynomic] [former last name] (because I mistakenly put [Patrynomic] as her middle name on the I-129F because I didn't really understand how Russian names work) and our marriage certificate (and her passport, but not the K-1 visa inside it) say Anastasiia [former last name], we need to get our marriage certificate amended before she can do this. PRG can see I'm getting angry (especially when I tried to explain something and the clerk said she needed to talk to PRG, not me); PRG is trying to remain calm because she's read it's important to be polite when dealing with the US government. Fortunately she speaks to her supervisor before sending us away who apparently showed her how to do something to verify PRG was, in fact, PRG and wanted to be known as Anastasiia [my last name] now after asking some very basic questions. So crisis averted.

600 euros? Holy cow! That's a lot of money!

You should put the miminum payment on the card every month, just to be sure she can't afford too many uber rides

Shouldn't her husband be financially responsible for her? I mean isn't it in Islamic marriages that the girl is kinda "handed' from father to husband?

This reminds me of a question I've always wanted to ask... where exactly is the middle of nowhere and is it much different than the beginning or end of nowhere? I suspect it's actually somewhere in Texas, or maybe all of Texas.

By the way, a question for our resident San Diegans, Dave&Anastasia... any previous experience with Halloween weekend events in San Diego?

 

La Colombiana and I will be there 26th/27th, and we see a lot of events from pub crawls, to spendy dj events, and all the way up to a Halloween Yacht party with a wide range of ticket prices from $25 beer tasting event to $109 for the yacht party. No biggie if you don't have any recommendations. LC will probably choose whichever one that appeals to her best.

Just finished visit with kiddo and my mom.  Surprised kiddo.  She was VERY surprised.  Yay.  Going home with over stuffed carry on from my shopping trip at my favorite store.  Expensive trip.  Worth every penny.
