Back from trip, return we man.

Drove to medium-sized town not even an hour from the casa, short drive man.

Would've gotten there in time to do/see things, except Mrs. T-B. delayed us nearly Many hours, sigh man.

Destination and doings completely hidden from Mrs. T-B./Mini-B., surprise she & wee man.

 

Checked into motel, delighted Mini-B. & pleased Mrs. T-B. wee & she man.

Ate barbecue for din-din, highly acceptable man.

Took Heap Strong Medicine and went to bed at Many (2x2x2+1) p.m., way early zzz we man.

Awoke at half-past Many (2+1) a.m., backache man.

 

Breakfasted in motel lobby, unexciting but enough to take edge off man.

Found and walked around town square, courthouse man.

Mrs. T-B. found and patronized coffee shop, not Starbucks man.

 

Drove to a GS, first of several man.

Surprisingly, Mrs. T-B. didn't complain, surprised we man.

Mrs. T-B. immediately found much stuff, $Many worth and pleased she man.

Mini-B. found a ball cap, pleased wee man.

 

Stopped to get Mini-B.'s hairs cut, bad move man.

Barber, although gentle, hurt Mini-B., scrape already-unhappy wee man.

Mini-B. in tears afterwards, regret decision we man.

Mrs. T-B. highly displeased, bust our chops privately & in front of Mini-B. she man.

Found playground for Mini-B., mollified wee man.

Stopped at Sonic for a vanilla slush, further mollified wee man.

 

Went to GS #2, second of several man.

Surprisingly, Mrs. T-B. didn't complain, surprised we man.

Mrs. T-B. found some stuff and Mini-B. found some stuff, $Many worth man.

 

Drove to second metropolitan destination, citywide GS event man.

Delayed for Many minutes by accident on freeway, overturned Many-wheeler man.

Delayed further by detours via scenic country roads, farmland man.

 

Decided to lunch first, half-past noon man.

Went to excellent restaurant of our previous ingestation, eat previously we there man.

Service surprisingly good despite large crowd, tourists man.

At end, Mrs. T-B. declared, "Best lunch ever," declare she man.

 

Visited a few other GSs, Mini-B. losing patience wee man.

Mrs. T-B. found much stuff, $Many worth man.

We found 2 shirts and a pants for Mini-B., $2 worth man.

 

Mini-B. tired, impatient wee man.

Returned to casa, barely half an hour man.

Arrived at half-of-half till Many p.m., midafternoon man.

Intended to mow lawn, hurricane growth man.

However, began to rain, inopportune timing man.

Showered & napped instead, clean zzz we man.

 

Later mowed full lawn, finish just before sundown man.

Low back so stiff that we cannot bend past our knees man.

 

Despite haircut debacle, consensus was an enjoyable trip, consense we/she/wee man.

They didn't ask and didn't care that I was gone.

I'm not pleased about the scheduling at the moment. I was quite clear about my availability on the application and when discussing possible scheduling it was "2 24s one week, 1 24, 1 12 the next" and "1 daytime full time week in city with hotel stay" only after I had accepted the offer. 4-6 weeks of full time days, and multiple weeks in city with hotel stay were a complete surprise.

 

But, it is an honor to work for this particular company.  They have an excellent reputation and only hire very intelligent people. Not tooting my own horn here, but everyone I have met is surprisingly and exceedingly intelligent. I've heard lots of people from other services talk about wanting to work for them.

Many.  Any water at the top of the tyres and one takes one's chances, sigh man.

Their vehicles didn't get flooded in parking lots or driveways. They all drove into the high waters. We flood every year out here in the spring, this shouldn't be a foreign concept. The count is now close to 300. This is not even a large town. That is an extremely disproportionate amount of vehicles.

It is important to me that our children have a high degree of autonomy, resilience, and sense of self esteem. Therefore, they have no particular need for either of us. They would feel similarly if their dad was gone. 

 

I don't think it was intentional. I think it is a rural/city miscommunication. If I had interviewed with their main area, I bet I would have known.

 

Nah. They comp a very nice hotel, completely outfit us even in nice winter gear, and so on. The training was excellent. I've learned more in the last couple of weeks, than the last year. There is feedback at the end of the onboarding. I'll bring this issue up. We were very lucky that the baby boom had waned a little in bigger town, because finding childcare last minute a year or two ago, would have never happened. 

 

Nope, natives. They get stuck in the snow when roads are closed too. They think they know better and are hardy and it won't happen to them.

Sunday report, gripping man:

 

We intentionally violated our "for no reason leave the casa on Sunday" precept, loco we man.

On a lark, we decided to T-B.-mobile back to small metropolis for Day 2 of citywide  GS, amazing man.

(Mrs. T-B. & Mini-B. were out at their own activities, see man.)

 

We found several GSs fo scope, scope the take man:

  -- 2 Polo Ralph Lauren blouses for Mrs. T-B.; book for Mini-B. = $1, steal man

  -- 2 shirts & 2 pants for Mini-B. = $Many ($2+1), deal man

Total = $Many ($2+2)

 

We dodged massive cloudbursts in the process, intrepid we man.

Given our timely Thread Laundress activities, we attired Mini-B. in newly purchased duds for bed, attire we wee man.

 

This, plus 2-hour fizzicle therapy caucus, precluded our taking a nap, sigh and no zzz man.

Fizzicle therapist wants us to caucus with neurologist once more, then with surgeon, want this to be over man.

Early morning is for the the birds. not sure how I will function but I've been awake since 5am. wouldn't be so bad if I got more than 3 hours of sleep at night. Why oh why can I not sleep at night. Oh and why on earth do i have a child who needs to be awake so darn early??

I'm going to go do some baking because I am supper late and need to get my Christmas baking done.

I don't really bake for halloween.   Thanksgiving baking will be out of the same stuff I make now. Plus we do both Canadian and US TG  . I need to bake a lot of things.
