The rental company paid for us and now they want to collect money, so... 35 CAD divided for four is not that bad when comparing to all the costs we already borne for that trip

surely that one toll amount was offset by the tax refund paid out during the last , final, visit at an immigration control point ?

Honestly I have no idea.

We crossed the land border twice. One time while coming from Port Hurton, MI to Point Edward, Ontario and the second time while coming from Niagara Falls, Ontario to Niagara Falls, NY.

We have a shih tsu pomeranian mix that doesn't look too much different. We gave him a bath and cut his hair (2 person operation) this last weekend. He's neutered as well but still dry humps his bed daily. Whenever we're watching tv he seems to only perk up and pay attention when there's a lesbian or gay male sex scene. I don't know what that says about his orientation.

I spazzed out about this, about 10 years ago, came up with a new Darnell Rule - if it's trucked in more than 150 miles, don't eat it.   There are some exceptions, like frozen pizza - but - who eats frozen pizza anymore ? 

 

SeaFood in North Dakota sounds almost like some oxymoronic label,  a subtheme in some comedy sketch show.   There's other things there, like elk, sheep, goats, buffalo, cows ...   maybe stick with that ? 

If one some 'date' , well, you pick the place next time. 

 

Walleye is usually fine out here because it is local. I knew better, but my oldest kid didn't want to go to Panera, which was in the same parking lot. I didn't feel like driving around anymore, so I gave up all reason and went to Red Lobster. The kid's shrimp was fine. I was already in the bathroom before we left. I just used to eat so much lobster when we lived on the ocean, sometimes I miss it. It was also like $5-6/lobster in New England. 🤣

 

There is a smattering of pigs and cows, but frankly, it gets too cold in the winter to ethically raise livestock here with some small scale exceptions. Local butchers are popular in this part of the midwest, so we do buy there from time to time. It is just an extra trip out of the car with the kids, which wears on my sanity.
