Feeling pretty crappy today. Last week I only less than two and a half days. First I took a day off for my husband's AOS interview. Then I took a day and a half because my grandpa died. I probably could have taken another day off, but I would have just sat at home watching Netflix and wallowing. It's not like it was unexpected, but he declined really quickly over the last three months. Before the funeral, we sneaked a 2019 penny into his shirt pocket- he made a lot of clocks (at last count two years ago, he and my grandma had 72 clocks that he made in their house) and he always put a penny in from the year he made them in it. My dad told someone and they responded that he'd use it to make his first clock in heaven. Saturday was the funeral and my husband's green card arrived; the day was bittersweet.

In other news, today, August 12th, is Middle Child Appreciation Day! My favorite holiday as I'm the second born of three daughters. Go appreciate the middle children you know!

He sounds like he was a really neat guy. I'm sorry for your loss. :(

My middle child is a bit of an energy vampire, so he gets his full everyday. Right now he is talking to me, because he never stops talking to everyone, anywhere.

I wish I was too, in some regards. My background check is still pending, likely due to this self employment issue.

I've seen a few posts where people type neutralized instead of naturalized.

Wonder if it is a matter of autocorrection or they really think they've been neutralized. :P

I've been telling my husband he now has to perpetuate the values and mythology of 'Merican Freedom. In some ways, you could say he has been freedomized.

Rant: when you update your profile, VJ now requires a real city to be listed for location. Obviously not doing that.

You think? My kids don't really do that. I think they all hate each other at the moment.

You know ...  seeing an isolated post in the middle of a thread you  haven’t looked at for quite a while is highly amusing / confusing / bewildering ...

note to self: either follow more regularly or not at all ! 🤪
