Don't panic. The receipt will come. If you have an attorney, have him/her call VAWA unit. They know the number.

Thank you! I couldn’t find any probono lawyers to help me so I filled everything myself! I’m hoping to hear something back in the next week or two!! Do you happen to know the direct number to the vawa unit?

3 RFE !!! OMG

what were they ? 3 ?

Don’t lose hope my friend. 3 RFE’s is nothing compared to me getting 5 RFE’s and here I am.  Just listen to other members who have been through RFE’s and just cover every request as best, precise and accurate as you can. Good luck.

It is faster if your lawyer requests the NOA, it took me 2 months to get my approval letter, my lawyer requested twice

Thank you.

I didn’t use a lawyer. No money and the probono ones were no help.

If I don’t hear back in 2 weeks I’ll send another letter since I can’t get any info over the phone.. so frustrating!

Lol..😂😂 someone here got 5! Anyway it's no cause for alarm..I think his attorney didn't submit his supporting documents from the get go..only filed the petition! For me..they were: Good moral character, good faith marriage and residence! RFE is not a monster..it's just the USCIS official communicating to you that they need closure or more details on your case! Some officers are more pleasant than others apparently!

That’s true and with RFE’s since some haven’t gotten it as yet, it is precise as possible can what the reviewing officer needs. No need to worry at all.

Ok with my GFM I start by stating how we met, all dates we went on, everything she bought for me, things I bought for her, I also State I didn’t had intentions to stay in America which I actually didn’t as I was still in status but she convinced me for weeks to stay, I State reasons why I didn’t have to stay in America as I was ok in Jamaica with good job. I wrote precisely what happen in each occasions “if you read my affadavit it would seem you were there”. It was that precise. I wrote who propose, when we got married, who attend etc etc. I went into details of all plans we had, meeting all her kids, parents “I knew all their birth dates, where they were born and almost everything about them. Went into detail a bit”. I also mention how she got me a job, buying me tools for work etc. I also went into detail of our routine for each day, our similarities, our differences. I wrote about her jealousy when I spoke to others and how I did almost everything she asked. I wrote everything I remember but I kept it to detail so the affadavit was within 15 pages. It took me about 14 days to write. Also get all pictures you can, text messages etc. Everything I wrote about I had text messages and pictures with dates and all to back up what I wrote. Most of which was done because we always text.

If you reach this far just think along that line.

yea... I was naive enough to delete text messages. I always did with all my contacts... i like my phone clean. No way i am doing that any more, being too trusting is not good, i learned the hard way.

I do have lots of picture as we went out a lot, barely any receipts as I don't save those either... and who would for 10 yrs when you had not anticipated this all...

i will take the point you made about including those extra details in the affidavit, good tip, thanks!

These tips and strategies are NOT given by lawyers whom we pay so much money. I found so many pointers and tips from this forum . Thank you and I don’t have a problem giving advice here. I could give a lot more but it would be a long message. Just trying to keep it short. I will always say thou when responding pour your heart and soul into your writing. Let the officer feel the pain you go through what he/she did to you. Write so the investigating officer read and imagine he/she was there. Get as detail as possible but keep it compact. You will succeed.

Every little detail you think may not matter will really be the one that matters. For eg. I went to the point of saying we both loved coffee, she would make me breakfast in the morning for work and I would cook dinner for her when she came home from work.
