Thanks everybody

Recently I found a very interesting case. A person was denied VAWA case for bona fide marriage, I believe this person submitted a lot of joint documents, but his VAWA application still got denied for bona fide marriage. Can someone tell me why?

As simple as didn’t show enough evidence of a legit marriage. All those documents should be submitted or at least several of them showing chronological order from the time they started their relationship... so sad to hear was denied but we must present proof that we did all right throughout history together with your ex-spouse/abuser

Wow! Nobody knows exactly how specific officers make decisions on cases! I guess some are more lenient than others..others may be harder to convince...sometimes I tell folks it's not only by saturating them with lots of evidence..PRAY PRAY and PRAY!Β  grace and favour saves the day many a times!!!πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

I read almost all that document that you post and it’s clear why he got denied. There were so many flaws to his case. For starters he got engage for a long time and when he got married was after he was release from ICE custody after he was in removal proceedings. An immigration officer is gonna look at it that he got married to not get

deported.Β As you read along he told ICE 1 thing then writes another. Meaning his affadavit was way off. And the list goes on and on. It’s in it.Β

Good Lord! You see..we shouldn't accept anything on face value alone, it's only a facade! In-depth lies the true reason! Immigration frowns at inconsistencies alot! His actions also proves he got married for all the wrong reasons..hence the denial! And if such a person with this history tries to apply again, it will come off as desperation and may meet with another staunch denial!!Β

yea... the fact that this person was in removal proceedings when they got married and then quickly applied for VAWA after.... those are red flags. and the inconsistencies between the recounting of events.Β

Really sad! A rather very desperate attempt! Now he will be closely watched and even if he tries to do it right, it will be hard to prove! Not a good spot to be in! SMH😟

Hello,Β

My application was delivered to the Vermont office 05/09 and after 30 days I didn’t receive the paper receipt. So I called the number but when the lady looked up my info from my Alien number she said ”your file is Vermont and I can’t give you information, you need to write to them” so I wrote a notarized letter asking for copies of my receipt notices but so far nothing.. anyone has experience with this? How long does it normally take for Vermont to respond to letters?Β

Thank you!!Β

I am not saying these is no truth to their situation, It looks bad. Life is not black and white, and people find themselves in these situations and keep getting into a spiral of bad things. there are people out there who would take advantage of and prey upon immigrants in so many ways...but the burden lies on the immigrant to prove the abuse and its not always easy or possible.Β

Oh dear..I hope you find someone who's from same location as you..but in this context I meant NBC (National Benefits Center) located at Missouri. That's were most applications that require an interview are prepared especially i485! It's the reason why we have receipts with MSC numbers...Missouri Service Center!πŸ‘

That makes a lot sense. I misunderstood. Thank you for telling me that.

Of course he might have good intentions, but going about it the wrong way! Ain't no way immigration in this current administration will handle the situation with kid gloves...they can't see the content of your heart, you only need to convince them..but unfortunately he only succeeded in raising suspicions! Sad sad sad!
