May I ask if I can file those documents myself and how?  Do I need to pay any fee? Waiting is way too anxious.   And one more question, can I extend EAD under c031? Or have to apply EAD under c09 ? I already see I am not receiving GC interview before it expires next March:(. 

You can file for your AOS, if you can't afford to pay the USCIS fee you have to submit the I-912 WAIVER.You have to file the I-485 for you and for your child and have to submit to waivers,plus the documents needed to file for adjustment of status.

 

You will file AOS then use category C9 instead C31.

Usually these conversations and discussions are posted in General Discussion Section.  The admins can tell you what to post as certain things such as use of profanity, defaming, or degrading someone in your posts are considered TOS Violations.  Most times venting about the situation is acceptable.

We get the extension when we have filed accordingly and a NOA sent to us! Yes the extension begins soon as the EAD expires!

Hi guys!

Sometimes I’m thinking that people who is literally living here in a VJ know better than some attorneys.

 

It is a LOT information here. A lot. And I’m so grateful that i found this site when I was applying for fiancé visa. It helped!

 

So sorry for you guys who faced with not a good layers!

 

And as usual I have a question again🙈😃

June 4 I sent my EAD for renew it. And still didn’t get any notice. 

 

Is it take so so long now for some notice. I know that they got it June 13.  It from that time just silence. 

 

Shoud i I start to by worrying? 

Or it will come later?

Hi dear..I feel same way about this community! Awesomeness!😍 anyway concerning the NOA it took about 4weeks to get mine, but I've seen shorter and longer waits..so you may be getting it anytime now..but if not..say in the next one or two weeks you can make enquiries..perhaps through your representative!👍

Yes for some reason Vermont takes more time to issue or sent NOA receipts.. around 4 weeks or so....

I sent it to Chicago because I was applying under C09 category with my I-485 pending petition.

But did you applied for VAWA?? After submitting I-360 Vermont have jurisdiction over your case, it happened to me my lawyer sent my EAD C09 renewal to NBC after 8 months of waiting and congress person involve they transfer to Vermont. Vermont had jurisdiction and they process and sent my EAD renewal... My marriage base I-485 was still pending at the time in my local office, at the interview the officer also said my I-485 will be transfer to Vermont as well (He told before I even requested to be hold ) Because of I-360 being pending.

I just joined this forum after reviewing posts by different members.  I need some guidance and I never see to get this from lawyers.

 

I file my VAWA petition in October 2018 and I received pre ma facie determination in December 2018. Recently I received an email June, 07  that my petition was undergoing Initial Review,  please what does this mean?

 

Also I have been scheduled for an I-485 AOS Interview in two weeks time.  Do I need to attend this interview, considering I am no longer with my spouse and also that I have put in a VAWA petition. If so, do I need to attend the interview with a lawyer? 

 

You urgent response will be appreciated.

Hi dear..everyone is always welcome here! ☺ fret not, lots of folks get the initial review update! Especially when your case is been visited..so let's hope for the best..at least we've seen Jan 2018 approval..you'll get there!🙏 if you're using an attorney then you can go for that interview with the attorney! If not make certain you attend that interview with your NOA/prima facie..as this will support your plea for the i485 to be held in abeyance pending VAWA adjudication! If you do not attend..it would be interpreted as abandoned..and you may face removal proceedings..or something like that! So yes it's pertinent that you attend! Lawyer or not!

Do you have any idea how long it takes from Initial Review to Approval?

There's no stipulated time! If there was then I would know when exactly I would have my interview, or would have known beforehand when my vawa would be approved..before it actually was! Apparently they are working on October-December 2017 alongside Jan 2018 so I guess it depends on the officer handling the case..how complex the case is, how fast they are, workload etc..are factors!
