Did you not send police clearance right at the very start ? I am just asking cause I see a lot of people get RFE on good moral character . Are we not suppose to send it right at the beginning with our package so that we don’t get that RFE

Alot of us learnt a ton of truths here after we filed our cases..that's why we advice folks to read as much threads as they can, it helps! For those that are yet to petition, they can avoid this here RFE by making sure they submit police clearance for ALL places they have resided for more than SIX months during the past THREE years prior to VAWA application! If you have not been in the USA for more than 3years prior to filing, do please get a police clearance from your home country or that very country you resided before arriving the USA! Now that is for good moral character. The thing with USCIS is that sometimes you may submit all you got and feel like you've given 100% but will be sent an RFE for one thing or the other..sometimes it's just to bring clarity to a matter ( something you submitted or failed to) to which supporting documents or a detailed affidavit can handle. In all, I cannot over-emphasize the value of reading previous threads, it will save you a lot of complexities in your petition!

It's good news still! Glad you got your EAD. Your VAWA approval is closer than you think..hold on! 👍 nice to know they are approving Jan/Feb renewals.😊

Initially, I only sent police clearance for the city and state I lived in the US (one from the police office and one from the sheriff office), I got an RFE to send one from my home country. I was in the US over three years so they requested it as additional evidence not initial.

My advice is that you send a police clearance from every where you’ve lived in the past 5 years to prevent yourself from receiving a RFE

Hi ahmad

the fact  that you filed your VAWA Over 2 years now,  means you are outside of the vawa  processing window ie 18-23.5 months. You should contact USCIS to let them know that.

Thank you for telling us that. You have always been positive and helpful.

I think it'd be a good idea if we could put all the RFEs that we have seen so far together on a checklist. That way, folks who are still waiting can have a better heads-up.
