7.5 months? NYC? That's what I've been trying to understand about us NYC filers! I thought it's only one office which is at federal plaza Manhattan? That venue has a mad wait time..is there another office you're perhaps referring to? Intimate me please!🙏

Ooh am in Ma specifically Lawrence office

Attention all N.Y. filers..this could probably be the reason for recent extensions in interview wait times..👎

To process applications faster, we are moving some of our application work to other field offices. Therefore, you might receive a notice (for example, for an interview or a Request for Evidence) that comes from another field office that has not handled your case before. This change does not affect where you will go for your biometric appointment. We will still send you to the closest USCIS application support center. Please follow the instructions in your USCIS notice.

If you have questions about any notice you receive from USCIS, please contact the USCIS Contact Center.

We are expanding our online fee payment system. Starting Apr. 8, 2019, you will no longer be able to pay fees with a money order or cashier’s check at this office. You can still pay with a personal check, debit card, credit card, or a reloadable prepaid credit/debit card.

We talked about how fast the QUEENS office was but looks like they are now transferring other field offices work load over there! I got the info from USCIS site! Also the correct address for NYC field offices are:

JACOB JAVITS FEDERAL BUIDING, 26 FEDERAL PLAZA 9TH FLOOR ROOM 901 FOR QUEENS,

8TH FLOOR ROOM 8-800 FOR BROOKLYN (FEDERAL PLAZA)

7TH FLOOR ROOM 700 FOR N.Y. N.Y. BRONX AND NEIGHBORING ENVIRONS!(FEDERAL PLAZA)

ALL IN THE SAME BUILDING! ✌ 👍

Oh I see..2 Mill St, Lawrence, MA 01840 👍 I see that your wait times is between 7.5 months and 24 months! It's same with my field office as well..I also read that they are moving cases from other field offices there in MA to faster offices...so that may be a reason..as it didn't use to take this long...

Hi blunt! Remember you can renew your EAD up to 180 days before expiration! I believe you need your i485 receipt, copy of EAD you are renewing and two passport style photographs. I never paid any fees but most folks say you have to..so let's hear from everyone! Don't waste time to renew as they are taking insanely long to deliver...and oh I used my attorney..never done it myself! Glad that your petitions have been acknowledged!

Probably..but try and read this see if it helps...

4.2 Automatic Extensions of Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) in Certain Circumstances

Automatic Extensions Based on Timely Employment Authorization Document (Form I-766) Renewal Application

Foreign nationals in certain employment eligibility categories who file an EAD renewal application may receive automatic extensions of their expiring EAD for up to 180 days. The extension begins on the date the EAD expires and continues for up to 180 days unless the renewal application is denied. An automatic EAD extension depends on these requirements:

  • The employee must have timely filed an application to renew their EAD before it expires (except certain employees granted Temporary Protected Status (TPS)), and the application remains pending;
  • The eligibility category on the face of the EAD is the same eligibility category code on the Form I-797C Notice of Action, the employee received from USCIS indicating USCIS’s receipt of their renewal application (except employees with TPS who may have a C19/A12 combination); and
  • The eligibility category is listed on uscis.gov as eligible for EAD automatic extensions. As of the date of publication of this M-274, Handbook for Employers, eligibility categories codes for a 180-day automatic extension are A03, A05, A07, A08, A10, C08, C09, C10, C16, C20, C22, C24, C31 and A12 or C19.

The employee’s expired EAD in combination with the Form I-797C Notice of Action showing that the EAD renewal application was timely filed and showing the same qualifying eligibility category as that on the expired EAD is an acceptable document for Form I-9. This document combination is considered an unexpired Employment Authorization Document (Form I-766) under List A.

You will get a NOA after you file the EAD renewal. On the NOA it should explain how that document is the filing receipt as well as language stating it extends the EAD.   Due to processing times the NOAs are now valid for 180 day extension even if it doesn't state so. See the above stillwinning posted
