That is just wicked. Yeah, you’re right he should take it easy and not in a hurry since he has his green card now

Yeah I was thinking about waiting a bit but it was just shocking she popped up back in town, went about and got my number and demanding money. Even wants me to pay off her debts which is roughly $30,000.00 😳😳😳😳😳 and ranting about not filing for my green card. “Was just laughing to my self.”  So I said I want a divorce and she said I have to pay her. So this is what I’m gonna do, just finish clearing my bills and whenever I save up I’ll just use a lawyer and just avoid her cuz she’s still being aggressive and saying bad things to me.

And here I was hoping we could get the answer from you Daniella!😂😂 ok we in trouble now😕😕

Nooo 😨😨 I still searching for this , NYC have do it yourself option online, for uncontested one but is not accepted if you have children. but when you open the files is around 20 pages of documents which i can easily make a mistake the will not benefit me. and is also very confusing... So when searching for pro-bono or legal aid they just want to answer some questions but not help you all the way thru it... So i guess i will wait for next year to afford it . Any suggestion did you got divorce??

Do you want to marry again soon? If not take it easy! A time will come when your spouse will want to move on..and will be the one pleading to be set free! How about that...or you can pay the ridiculous fees..😏

I don’t think she will wanna move on anytime soon. I haven’t seen her since May 2017 and she finally showed up June 2019 without a text or phone call during that period. I don’t think that’s a person that is willing to get a divorce easily because technically she thinks I don’t have a green card and if she’s still married to me I can’t file for a green card or get remarried. She’s devious like that.

So sorry you’re going through all these. Everyone of us is. Mine was uncontested,no kids nor properties. I signed it last weekend . Am just waiting for the judge to sign the final decree. I can always get the final decree from the court where she filed it. These people treat us so badly and it’s very unnecessary all because we are trying to better ourselves here.

Ok thanks I’ll look into this but I realize each state is different. But I’ll still look into it.

I wish I was in your position right now. Thought it would be all over but I guess it still continues as long as you keep in touch with your abusive spouse. Imma just stop communicate with her and get a lawyer ASAP.

how long does it take to get a biometrics appointment after having filed for vawa and adjustment of status at the same time? do they give you an scheduled date?

It depends. I’ve seen persons get RFE early before biometrics but normally should be between 4 weeks to 3 months. Could be earlier could be later. It’s not cast in stone.
