Hey guys, i hope you all are doing great toady. I am anticipating an RFE for good moral character particularly a police clearance from my home country. So i am curious about how to get it and how it is sent to USCIS. Do I have to order it and have the police department in my home country send it directly to USCIS or do they send it to me first, so that I can then send it to USCIS?. How exactly does it work?

I just got a police clearance from back home.

If you were back home in the last 3 years before filling VAWA for more than 6 months you need to submit that. Here is my experience, First send someone from back home to get information what is needed to get a clearance from your country police department. Check what they need from you.

My country needs an authenticated finger print, so I went to an assigned finger print services then notarise it at bank, went to city gov. for authentication, Department of state, Embassy of my home country then I sent the document. In my country you need a power of attorney then i sent a power of attorney. They had  notarise the documents at ministry of foreign affairs, then they took the document to police department of forensic examination, got the clearance and again notarise it at ministry of foreign affairs and they sent it back to me. You need to get it and mail it to USCIS. . If my experience helps.
