It's not impossible, actually you can..but first go online USCIS site and gather quality andย  solid information concerning applying for vawa from overseas! You'll be surprised to find lots of valuable info that you may not find entirely here..most folks here I believe are on ground..just a handful from overseas! Yeah so do that then gather all the documents you will need..start from there!๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘

Thank you for your responses. I have been studying that site for a month now, but I also ask for help and advice from people. I have proof. But not all that is required. I can not have a lawyer, because I can not yet pay.
I also want to ask the question: how long can such a case be considered? Thank you.

If you mean how long does vawa takes to get approved..It's anywhere between 15-24 months..some get approved sooner other9 much later! Take your time infact be meticulous when it comes to collecting supporting documents! Best to do it right! Good thing you're getting info from USCIS site! Be positive and focused dear you can do this!๐Ÿ‘

Dear, thank you...ย the most important question is whether I should wait for a formal divorce? Or can I indicate that at the moment this question is not clarified? When I send documents.

If you have the requirements- the supporting documents to back up your claims, then do please go ahead! You do not need to be divorced to file for VAWA! That is not one of the requirements! You can file while still married, in the process of divorced or divorced..but not more than two years after divorce!๐Ÿ‘

Thank you very much. I also did not understand whether I should pay a fee of $ 435

The instructions are not always clear, unfortunately, I try to understand it. And

I also ask you for advice. What country should I specify to receive documents if I live in Russia? But the USCISย office in Russia was closed, and it is written that Greece will serve the country. Can this be true or can change the country for an interview later?
Hugs.

Thank you.

I don't know about your last enquiry...but I believe you can ask for a waiver! Are there no pro bono lawyers around you? Makes things a lot easier on you...still you can do it on your own! All USCIS needs is a safe address so if you choose an address of your choice that's where mails are gonna go to!

Thanks again for your reply.
I don't know English very well, so maybe I did not ask such a question.
I read that you can have any other address to which a letter will be sent to me. The problem is that I must indicate in the petition the country in which I should receive documents with a good outcome and pass an interview. I do not know which country to specify? Probably correctly indicate the country where I live at the moment?

Sure the country where you live at just make sure it's a safe address! It doesn't have to be where you live! Any address you trust will do!

Hey Natalysmile. I have done some research. The details of vawa filing from overseas are not clear on the immigration website. I read responses from multiple lawyers. One of them said, you will have to proof that you being out of the USA is part of your spouse's pattern of abuse. Most of the lawyers kept saying that you will need a very intelligent and skillfully prepared case. Our own famous lawyer Sandranj will definitely give her own input soon. So, my best advise is that, you get a lawyer. I can see that you said earlier that you can not afford a lawyer. My advise is that you have not yet divorce and you have up to 2 years after divorce to file. So you have time in your hands, but you need a Lawyer who is as smart as Sandranj on this kind of a case. If you can use the next one year trying to raise the money for for a lawyer and then hire one and go to work. Vawa itself is free. And being outside of the USA, you don't need to be in the hurry to file adjustment of status yet since it will cause a huge sum of money ($1140).ย Conconcentrate on raising money for a good Lawyer and for collecting all the necessary evidence of abuse. I really won't advise you to go into this kind of a case on your own without a lawyer or with anykind of lawyer because it is not clearly defined in the law. Recruit a lawyer that has a documented solid history on immigration issues. That is my point of view on this. I wish you the best and thank God you are out of harm's way now that your spouse already left.

Thank you for your reply.
I want to plan it and do it myself. Yes, because Iโ€™m a little willow to lawyers, Iโ€™m smart too, and I know that there are a lot of smart people around who can help with advice.
I'm not greedy, but just want to try it myself for a start. The instructions of the site are written in such a way that a lawyer does this so that he has a job, but I chatted with different lawyers and everyone said different things. Therefore I ask the help of people on this site-forum, but not lawyers, thanks.

Please I have a question. Is it okay to request the service of the ombudsman for assistance even though my Congresswoman is already on it? Can I also send in the final divorce decree now or it will be considered too late?

I 360 pending 29 months now.

ย

Any input will be much appreciated. Have a blessed Sunday ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™

Yea, you can actually do it your self. I was just advsing you to get a lawyer, because it is a part of the law that is not clear cut so it may be pretty tricky to handle. Make sure you do enough research and i wish you the best. We will all be praying for you
