I filed my VAWA case on January 31, 2018 and today it says  New card is Being Produced. My I485 was placed on Hold in the NYC field office when i went to the interview last year based on my ex husband I130 and they renewed the EAD Card based on my pending I485.

Today i received an update about card production for my vawa application.

 

- sent application for I-360 in Feb 2018

- prima facie Apr 2018

- 2nd prima facie Apr 2019

- sent in additional evidence 2 times after filing the petition.That included GMC from home country, divorce decree from previous marriage and proof of spouses immigration status. Thanks to education I received from VJ! Otherwise I would have received RFE.

- Did 2 separate therapy sessions (6+6)and sent in both reports. One report just mentioned the dates of therapy. Other one was a one page report that summarized the abuse.

- Card production 25 Jul 2019. No rfe.

-  Need to wait for priority date to become current to apply for adjustment of status as spouse is a GC holder

 

That being said i cant wait to see the physical approval to confirm that this step is complete for me.

I am about to file VAWA 360 485 concurrent filling

1. Do we need to submit medical exam report with the package at the same time?

2. About to purchase a house in San Francisco bay area, any benefit for VAWA applicant on mortgage/loan interest rates after we receive "prima facie letter"?

Probably for the i485..but when the time to adjudicate it comes, and it's more than 60days the civil surgeon's signature is imprinted on it, you'll be sent a reminder letter to update your medicals! For the house thing..I'm not so sure as most folks here..their immediate concern or need is to flee violence, heal and move on! Logically thinking..I believe the PF document is focused on primal needs! Like shelter, food, medical..finance! But you never know..hear from others..so many informed folks here..I wish you all the best in your endeavors!🙏

I would not suggest sending medical now it is only good for two years, and it has been taking VAWA approvals from 16 - 24 months to approve. You will have to do another medical by the time you have your AOS Interview. 

 

Prima Facie is only related to specific benefits and will not have a bearing on your home loan. Your home loan interest is based on work history and credit score.

I believe you can file Vawa outside USA. It says so on their rules if i am not mistaken. Sandranj will correct me if i am wrong. It doesn't really matter whether you are in the USA or outside to file vawa. What matters is whether you can proof the 3 things that vawa requires you to proof which are: Your marriage was legit, you were abused (physically or psychologically or both) and that you are of good moral character. Once you can check these 3 things in an application, good ahead. You should however wait a few days for Sandranj to give further input on this matter. One more thing, your spouse must be a USA citizen or permanent resident too.

It's not impossible, actually you can..but first go online USCIS site and gather quality and  solid information concerning applying for vawa from overseas! You'll be surprised to find lots of valuable info that you may not find entirely here..most folks here I believe are on ground..just a handful from overseas! Yeah so do that then gather all the documents you will need..start from there!😊👍
