Congrats!!! So excited and happy for you!
Yeah thats true this forum helps a lot.
So, I just have a quick question...how did you send an evidence? Any specific format of letter required? And where you mail it? To Vermont, right?
I am asking because I think I need to send something as well.
I filled with all required things except the final divorce papers because divorce happened after I sent my I360 application. So do you think I need to send final divorce papers to USCIS?
Also, my lawyer sent my case, so I dont really know exactly what she sent and what she didnt...but I provided her with all the evidence of legit marriage, statements about abuse, proof of residing together, photos, etc..
I also got a prima facie 1 like a month ago..does that mean they dont need more evidence or it does not?
Thanks and happy friday!

My divorce was finalized like 5 days after I sent my vawa package. I didn’t send the decree in but I’m sure they’ll ask for it during the interview.Β

Hi all! My status changed to Request for Additional Evidence was sent. I'm obviously panicking hoping they are just requesting an updated medical form. The medical form I used last time was created on July 10th, 2017. I submitted my application February 2018, so the medical form isΒ two years old this month. What are the chances they just want an updated version?

Β

Send me your positive vibes, team!

Relax. Just wait for the RFE and take it from there. In most cases it’s something simple which when supplied to them results into an approval.Β

Let us know what they’re asking for once you get it.Β

hi,

If my husband is willing to sign my divorce papers without me having to serve him with a process server or with an attorney, would that be viewed bad for my vawa case? i wasn't able to find out where he lives now, so I wasn't sure how and where to serve him with divorce papers. but finally I was able to communicate with him through texts and now he's willing to meet. The fact that my divorce petition is going to be a joint petition and not one served by a third party(process server) can have some bad effect for my vawa case? i was thinking it can be viewed as if we are in good terms and never had problems at all? thanks

Vermont hardly asks for medicals..thats for i485 at the local office to deal with! Vermont will want to know that you have a qualifying relationship with your spouse, that you're a person of good moral character, that you lived with your spouse and married in good faith! You will know exactly what they are requesting when the mail comes until then sit tight!

Not at all..my only worry is I hope he doesn't have any ideas up his sleeves! If truly he wants to part ways without incident then cool! It won't affect your case!

My attorney sent interfile requests along with letterhead in simple format indicating the types of documents, my Alien number and I-360 receipt # and addressed it to VSCΒ

Β

When I mentioned about mailing more evidence myΒ attorney said that we couldΒ wait and if there is an rfe they would mail it. However I insisted on interfiling and they immediately agreed and mailed it. I have sent 2 such interfile requests besides initial petition. Attorney mentioned that if for some reason CIS misplaces them they would send it again. But it seems everything went straight into my package since I got approved with out an rfe.

Β  Β  If i were you I would not wait and send anything that supports theΒ case as and when it is available.

Β  Β  My attorney always emailed me copies of what has been submitted to CIS. I think its a good idea to review the application a few times. It could be that they forget to attach something and you catch it. You can probably ask for a copy for your reference. I have asked them for it so i know what exactly has been mailed.

Β  Β I got a prima facie as well even before i sent in additional documents. So I am pretty sure prima facie doesn’t indicate straight approval as at that pointΒ application is reviewed only for some basic information. Once they did deeper they find out all missing pieces. With out interfiled documents im sure I would have received rfe though I received prima facie.

@keano99Β in addition to these determining factors, they want to know you were a victim of abuse!!! Vermont will not ask anyone for updated medicals just so you know!!!

Thank you, Stillwinning - I'll wait upon that RFE. Do you have an idea of the the time I have to respond?
