Check out public colleges and universities.

Best still when you can  apply for FAFSA , while still thinking on universities you want to apply to.

The moment you have some names of Universities you wish to apply to. Fill them on your FAFSA if they are participating university it will pop up. And your application will be forwarded to the school, even before you apply for admission.

Thank you so much for this info ... helps a ton 🙏🏻🤣

@Stillwinning!!!😊 @sandraj @TrizzleThe problem is I found a name interswitch on my EAD card...this mistakemiss from my lawyers office, there was this learning lawyer that my lawyer had giving my case to prepare, she dosent know anything she made alot of mistake on my i360 form ,thank God I had reviewed it and make corrections before they submitted,  she also made the mistake of using my name as last name and using other names as my last name, interswitch  on my i360 form ealier i corrected her and told her to put the corrections to all the forms, i360, i131, i765..not knowing that she only corrected the form i360 and left the rest form ... that lady is no longer working with my lawyer now ,guess her errors was too much so they chased her... now my lawyer got another learning lady again on my case... .. I called immigration uscis ask ant the correction they said it gonna take 3months to 5months to correct after waiting for the renewal for 10months,.. no, I think I would just leave the card that way till next year the file a renewal with corrections , mean while I was thinking abt travel ,.. but now I would no longer travel.. I will wait till next year...

Wow! That's really terrible!😕 if USCIS says it will take 3months plus to get it right..I don't think it's too much..just my opinion! After all you've waited much longer before! In the other hand if you wanna wait until renewal to handle it, fine as well! But think about the inconvenience and all..you wanna skip the trip! There has to be a way out..I hope sandra can come through in her capacity as an attorney to let you know how to go around it or mitigate the situation! I've learnt to be super patient..I would wait 3months to get it right..but that's me!

Your Marriage base I-485 it seems to be already at your local office in FL, when you received this notification NBC already shipped the file to Local office and your are on queue for a interview date, best way is to call USCIS customer service line 1 (800) 375-5283 to confirm the change of address was made on your I-485 don't mention anything about I-360 so they can give you this information, sometimes the customer service representative can't see the I-360 pending,  but interview can be delay since they need to ship the file to CA local office. But if the I-485 is already link with I-360 customer service will not give your this information you may have to make an infopass. For some reason in my I-485 marriage base application was not linked automatically even thought my lawyer requested when we file I-360, the officer at my interview did not have any knowledge the I had filed an I-360 and the it was pending for 11 months already he checked the status once we were at the office and confirm it.

Hi Daniela,

Thank you. I moved to CA on June 3rd. Sent an address update to DHS and Vermont SC by mail on June 15th. On July 1st got an update on I-485 status that its ready for an interview. So I am not sure about current address they have, I also tried calling to USCIS and they didnt provide me this info, but they said to send address update to Vermont together with letter asking to schedule my interview in CA which I did but no feedback received. So I still do not know where it is going to be scheduled.
What is infopass?
My lawyer is saying that even if interview will be scheduled in FL, I can still attend in any location I want without providing a reason. But I do not trust my lawyer at all. so...
So, what should I do in this situation? Contact local office in FL maybe ?

You cannot go to any office and interview. That is wrong information. The office that your interview is scheduled will have your file and all your information and they are the only one who can adjudicate and approve your petition.

Once you get interview letter you can reschedule to new office in CA if it's in FL. Or you can book a flight and go to the interview in FL.

I really don't think it would affect you in anyway since they are not the ones deciding your case..people fire incompetent lawyers all the time...if they're more of an obstruction than help then they gots to go!  Bottom line is it won't affect you as long as it's documented with Vermont so they are informed of the new place to send mails! I'm especially worried for you because you have made us understand that they don't care about their clients and are shady! I'm wondering what drama awaits you when it's time for interview and to pick up your green card!😏

You can always fire an attorney but where issues may rise is when and if you fire them, you got to update USCIS that they won’t longer represent you and the lawyers have to notify USCIS as well. Cuz often times I see members fire their attorneys and USCIS still send documents to them. That was the only reason I didn’t fire my attorneys because I knew after I got approved I won’t have to deal with them as often as when I was putting the file together.

And it won’t affect your I-360 in no way, shape or form.
