Assuming that it typically takes 8-12 months to get GC after VAWA approval, the earliest I can expect is Dec 2019 or April 2020. 

 

Any 2017 filers here? Anyone who also  filed around Aug 2017? Did you get any updates about the next steps after vawa approval? Just wanted to share notes.

Aug 2017 here. I only got courtesy letter, nothing else.  I would renew EAD in Aug/Sept. You will have to send in another application it does not automatically renew.

it has always worked for me whether it was about EAD, VAWA delay, Approval letter and transfer notice. 

I noticed they always respond faster when your congressman inquired on your behalf.

My dear Good morning.. I have been very busy working very hard to make some good cash.. cos I plan going to my home country by December 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣..... can u believe my work permit is still with my lawyer?  He hasn't given it to me yet , he says he needs to review it , my dear there is nothing that immigrant would not see in America....

😂😂😂😂 review what? LMAO! Is he a sub USCIS attorney or what? OMG! Just show up at his office and yank it from him! Who does that?😏 LOL one more time at reviewing it...😂😂😂 maybe he wants to make amendments..who knows?😳😏

My dear right from day one that office has been hell for me.. ever since they collected my money, that was the end, they became nasty, my friend that goes with me to the lawyer office always complains abt them, and bad attitude... if I dont get my work permit from them this week , I would have to go to their office next week .. can u believe the secretary was saying to me that not untill the lawyer reviews it that I can not pick it up even if I come in person ... hmmmmmm...

Wow! Just wow!😳 that is some attorney! You know this peculiar situation sometimes makes us vulnerable on all sides..attorneys looking to take advantage financially knowing or sensing the desperation! SMH😟 it's gradually coming to an end though! 👎

My dear I paid all his money already according to the agreement I sign and I got receipt for that... they just trying to prove important.....🤣🤣🤣🤣 well if I dont get my work permit buy Monday next week I would be in their office and if they refuse to give me I would have to call USCIS to complain that my lawyer has withheld my work permit

Yes this happen to me at NYC, DMV from 125th street have more knowledge of extensions and EAD. I requested a more experience supervisor I also took, the USCIS page the said C09 have an automatic extension, they was able to renew for 180days more until I received the actual EAD.

Listen with them lawyers that are bad “not saying there aren’t any good lawyers”, you got to get serious with them. I know what your facing cuz I had to always demanding what was mine from them. Even went to the point where I left a voicemail saying to  them if I drove the 6 hours and don’t get what I came for it’s not gonna end there and I will find some other sources to get it from them. Get serious and get what’s yours.

Thanks my friend, infact that's what I plan to go do on Monday, I would have to go sleep in their office untill they give me my work permit.... they are abt 9hour 30mins drive from me.... but I would use flight so I get there fast.. after waiting my work permit for 10minths now my lawyer is holding it back from me , it's really crazy.. they will kill immigrant in this country....

Wow! You would even have to bear the expense of flying down to them to get your permit! That's not nice! How come they're so far away though..you couldn't find anything close to you..or you moved? Girl you gotta do what you gotta do! No jokes!😕
