Hello,

Does anyone know the forms that are needed to be sent back with the application you send to the consulate itself after NOA2 (the beneficiary sends). I know that birth certificate, various papers about children and divorces, police certificates, and financial support evidence are listed. However, I've heard that many of these are not sent back with the packet, but actually brought later to the interview. Does anyone have a good list of what is normally sent back with the application and what needs to be collected by the interview? Or is this specific to the consulate? In the latter case, does anyone know the situation for Hong Kong? Thanks!!

  • September 17, 2005 - Florence and Tim met in Hong Kong for first time
    May 27, 2006 - Tim left Hong Kong to study in Beijing
    July 8, 2006 - Tim returned to Hong Kong to annoy Florence
    August 8, 2006 - Tim had to go back to school in U.S.
    December 18, 2006 - Tim returned to Hong Kong to spend holidays with Florence
    January 6, 2007 - Florence accepted Tim's begging plea to marry him and had engagement dinner
    January 13, 2007 - Tim had to go back to school again :(
    January 15, 2007 - Started putting together all the documents for the I-129F filing
    January 18, 2007 - Sent to Nebraska Service Center via overnight USPS - expensive :( - but fast :)
    January 24, 2007 - NOA1 Issued
    January 27, 2007 - NOA1 Received by Mail
    May 1, 2007 - Touched
    May 1, 2007 - NOA2
    May 2, 2007 - Touched
    May 13, 2007 - Tim went to HK to visit Florence
    May 22, 2007 - Package sent from NVC to HK Consulate
    June 6, 2007 - Florence received packet 3
    June 8, 2007 - Florence finished filling out packet 3
    June 9. 2007 - Florence went for medical exam and to request police certificate
    June 16, 2007 - Florence got interview scheduling letter from HK Consulate
    July 12, 2007 - Interview at Hong Kong Consulate for Florence, successful
    July 22, 2007 - Florence came to U.S.
    September 15, 2007 - We had our wedding!
    Now working on the AOS papers.

go here, choose your embassy from the drop down list and follow the directions. for hong kong you have standard processing so it looks like all you have to send is a copy of the passport, but read it all for more info

03/14/07 NVC received case/assigned number

03/27/07 AOS(Affidavit of Support) Fee Bill and DS-3032 generated

03/27/07 DS-3032 emailed from wifes email account

03/27/07 AOS Fee Bill mailed

03/30/07 NVC emails my wife acknowledging receipt of DS-3032

04/02/07 Immigrant Visa (IV) Bill generated

04/04/07 AOS Fee Bill entered into NVC system

04/09/07 I-864 Generated

04/12/07 (IV) Bill received/mailed to NVC

04/16/07 I-864 sent to NVC

04/19/07 (IV) Fee Bill and I-864 entered into NVC system

04/25/07 NVC mails Barcode and Instructions for DS-230

04/27/07 NVC completes review of I-864: Approved

05/02/07 Received Instructions for DS-230/Mailed DS-230 to NVC

05/04/07 NVC enters DS-230 into system

05/15/07 Case Complete

06/18/07 Interview date : July 09, 2007

06/20/07 NVC mails packet 4 to me and my wife

06/21/07 NVC mails case to bogota

06/23/07 Received packet 4

07/09/07 Interview/Visa Approved

07/11/07 Visa in hand!!

08/2007 arrival in the US

10/15/2007 applied for SS card at our local SS office

10/23/2007 received SS card in the mail
