Congrats!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

June 8 - Received email with Receipt Number.

June 11 - Biometrics appointment letter mailed out (June 30 at 1PM)

June 30 - Biometrics.

Dec.6/07 INTERVIEW..... APPROVED!!!! (After being kept awake all night in dirty clothes standing outside my hotel because Air Canada lost my luggage and my hotel started on fire. Meh, sleep is highly over-rated anyways.)

Dec.18/07 Moved to the US

Oct. 29/09 Citizenship Oath Ceremony

APPROVED!!!!

I have to pick it tomorrow at 2.

There was a mess up with my Medical results. Dr Chana's office checked off that I had a class B medical condition. I got questioned a few times about this at the Interview and he wanted to know what my medical condition was. He kept asking me about drug use, mental illness, etc and told me I need to come clean. I kept saying "No, the only thing I take is birth control and the only medical problem I have had is my Gallbladder surgery." They finally got a hold on the Doc's office. He told me it was approved and the Doc's office will have to fix this or it will cause problems down the road. I assume they are faxing a new copy of this page to the Consulate. So instead of getting it today, I can pick it up tomorrow. I'm glad I booked my flight home for 6:30 tomorrow night!

It is an absolutely GORGEOUS day here in Vancouver!! It is sunny and hot and the city is beautiful. I finally found an Internet place ( a little computer store) and it is just around the corner from the Hotel.

I'll give further details about it all later.

Thank you everyone for your support!! The Canadian Forum here is so amazing!!!

And now I am off to have a few cocktails!!! :):dance::dance::dance:

CONGRATULATIONS my dear friend!!!! And please give us details... Dr. Chana is such a jerk. ARGHHH.
