In my wife's case, she entered the US via a CR-1 in 2017, and Texas gave her a driver's license for 7 years.  Hopefully, she will be a citizen before her license expires.

I have the same experience , after my 2yrs GC was approved, i went to the DMV to extend my DL  in Las Vegas, to my surprise, the lady said to me since you are Permanent resident , i will issue you 8yrs DL, i was surprise but equally happy.

I always have the feeling that the DL goes with the 2yrs GC

Usually within two weeks after they receive it.

Keep checking your bank transactions (assuming you paid the application fee with a check) - if they deposit your check - that means the application is properly submitted and accepted and - you’ll get Notice of Action in the form of extension of your permanent residency for 18months.

I personally know 2 cases where USCIS received the I-751 form and returned it to sender (WITHOUT DEPOSITING THE CHECK) because there were minor errors and they had to re-do the application and re-send it to USCIS again.

Hey guys!

So my packet is finally almost ready.

I am now reading the instructions for the umpteenth time, and only now seeing the request for Affidavits from friends/family.

Is is that a requirement? Did you all submit these affidavits? They were never required for AoS, and in fact were deemed almost useless and needed only in desperate situations.

We we have pretty solid amount of other relationship evidence. So I’m wondering if it’s required for everyone. And whether there are others who did not send the affidavits but relied solely on other evidence.

Same idea for RoC.  They are weak evidence of little probative value, but for someone who is missing other critical items, they can be useful.

If you don’t submit them, you’ll be fine.  The evidence list in the instructions is suggested more than required (only “requirement” is the green card copy).
